A Silverblade Threat

After letting Quinn settle in, Samuel went back to his office as the sun had set and walked down the hallway where Elena had her room. He saw her returning from the baths and she saw him, "Sam!" She skipped to him, "Can I show you something? Can I? Can I?" He smiled and nodded and she opened her door and let him in, "Look!" She held out a page. He took it and saw an uneven and messy handwriting with her name and a few sentences written, "Dariia said that it was good and that I was learning quickly."

"Elena, my name is Elena, I like flowers and roses are my favorite, wow, good job," He smiled and she hugged him, "Elena?"

"Thank you, Sam, oh and she is teaching me numbers, I was able to find my room, did you see?"

"I did, I did, I am glad that you are happy," He hugged her and she then moved to her bed, "Do you like it here?"

"Mhm, I love it here," She blew out her candle, "Good night, Sam."

"Good night, Elena, if you need anything, go to Cassidy or come find me if you need to," He closed her door and then continued walking down the stone floored hallway. He stopped once he got near his room and heard one of the ladies from the rooms near his crying, speaking alone. He headed towards the room and opened the door slowly, it was room 167, Carla's room, she had had a bad experience before, humiliated several times before he was able to save her, he felt guilty for it, and she was one of the ladies that had been there for a while and were in the hallway near him with two helpers for them.

"Carla?"

"Pl-Please save me, don't touch me, please stop!" She whispered as Samuel moved towards her, "Don't touch me!" He lit her room's candle with his and then sat down on her bed, near her, "Who is there?"

"It is me, Carla, Sam," His hand touched her arm, "It's okay, you and I are the only people here," She sat up and looked terrified, still trembling, sweat drops on her forehead and her teeth clicking together, "Come here," She moved closer to him, "Tell me, what was in that nightmare?"

"They were in my room, I couldn't move."

"No one is in your room, just me and you."

"Thank you," She said, holding him, "I hate myself, that I keep remembering this."

"No, no, you shouldn't hate yourself, you shouldn't hate them, but you should see them as lower than you, those who harmed you are those you should try to forget," She sniffled as she hugged him, "Do you want me to get you something, food or water?"

"No, but I don't know what to do, I can't sleep," She trembled in his arms. Sam stayed with her before she stopped crying, "Thank you, Sam."

"Of course, I am sorry about not being fast enough in the past."

"No, you did what you could, it would have gone on for a long time if you hadn't," She began sniffling again.

"Now, now, no need to cry, Carla, try to sleep, if you can't, come get me or Dariia or Goldie, they are here to make sure that you are fine, okay?"

"Yes, Sam, thank you," He tucked her in and then sat in her room, blowing out her candle, "Can you stay here?"

"I can, let me blow out my candle," He blew the candle and let her fall asleep. He waited for her to be asleep and then got up and headed to the door. He opened it and then stopped, looking back at Carla before leaving the room and lighting his candle on one of the torches of the hallway. He looked around and walked back to his room, "I wonder if I can get something set up for them," He saw Fiora knock on his door, "I am here, Fiora."

"Oh, I thought you were in your room."

"I was talking with Carla, she had a small nightmare and I heard as I passed, so I went to help her."

"Oh, okay, are you fine with having our meeting still?"

"Yes, I wanted to talk about something I haven't thought of," He said as they entered his room, "About the girls that are on this level, well, the ones we had placed as the traumatized ones, the ones who were humiliated, you know," She nodded, "I was thinking we should have regular check-ups or group talks, you see?"

"I do, I do, so you want me to float that to the caretakers Dariia and Goldie?"

"Yeah, I would like that, that would make it easier if it is their caretakers that talk to them," He nodded.

"You know that lady you saved, the last one."

"Quinn."

"She is was the wife of a rich noble, he sent us this, sort of threat letter."

"Let me see that," He took the small message and unrolled it, "Sir Samuel, if you do not return my lady, Quinn Silverblade, in the coming days, I shall raid your manor and take her by force, you cannot claim what is not yours, Lord Silverblade."

"I shall ask Quinn what she thinks, but she seemed happy to be here," Fiora said, "But a raid?"

"I will need a few more of my blades, but don't worry, I can protect us," He removed his gauntlet and reminded her of his powers, "Magic is rare, and very powerful."

"If you say so, well, we might as well go with what she wants," Fiora said, taking the letter back, "Are you sure you could deal with a few dozen men?"

"Did I ever tell you the time I killed 50 men alone?"

"No, never, but I guess your magic helps."

"I am skilled with a blade, but this blade is more like a trophy for me, than an actual weapon," He stood and took his blade off and placed it, sheathed, on the desk, "Anything else happen today?"

"No, not really, life is going fine for most of the girls."

"Then that is perfect."
