Nightmare

It was 4 a.m in the morning. Isac slept in an uncomfortable position on the couch. He did not sleep well. He woke up in between, drank some water, checked up on Calista and then tried to get some sleep. He did this on an hourly basis. He just couldn't sleep soundly. Was it because he was sleeping on the couch? or was it because he was greatly worried about Calista? He didn't know.

He continued to roll around trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in. He suddenly woke up startled. He heard a scream. It was not very loud but he still heard someone screaming. It looked like it was from his room. He immediately got up and rushed towards his bedroom.

It was Calista. Calista was screaming as she rolled on her sides. Isac was worried as she was pulling on the IV. He was worried that it might bruise her hands even more. He moved closer. He did not know how to react.

Calista was screaming as tears streamed down her face endlessly, she rolled. It looked like she was having a nightmare.

Isac gently held her, stopping her from rolling. He slightly shook her and patted her back "it's just a nightmare" he said as he kept patting her back gently.

Calista seemed to calm down, she stopped screaming and opened her eyes. She saw someone her vision was blurry as she was still crying. She blinked a few times her tears didn't stop but she could see Isac.

Isac saw her eyes open. He let out a sigh in relief. He thought she wouldn't wake up for a day or two.

A wave of emotions hit Calista. She was in pain, she was angry, she felt sad. She was even more frustrated by the fact that she couldn't do anything.

She tried sitting up and Isac helped her. The events that occured flashed before her eyes. She hated it. She just hoped that all of it was a bad nightmare. But she knew that it wasn't. She saw the IV on her left hand, she saw the dressings on her body. She knew it was the reality. Her tears were starting to get dried.

She looked at the ceiling aimlessly. "why? " she spoke. Isac just stood there next to her without saying anything.

"you could've left me there.. why? why did you bring me to your place?"

He still didn't answer. He just stood there. She turned towards him and looked at his face. "I'm sorry for causing you the trouble, I know I'm being an inconvenience to you" she spoke as she locked her eyes with him.

Her eyes looked dead. There was no sparkle and her face was completely emotionless. She had a poker face. Isac did not like that. He clenched his jaws. How did she even think like that? why will she think that she's causing trouble even when she has been through a rough time?

"you're not causing me trouble. you're also not an inconvenience. I couldn't leave you like that alone"

Calista was still looking at him. It was silent. Isac held her eye contact.
