As Kenzo teased Maki and continued their banter, she found herself melting under his charm. The soft glow of the sunset bathed the training ground. Maki's heart raced as she felt a mix of emotions she hadn't expected.
"You know, you're not making it easy for me to stay mad," Maki admitted, her blush deepening.
Kenzo grinned, the glint in his eyes playful. "Who said I wanted you to stay mad? I prefer your smile."
Maki's cheeks turned a shade of crimson as she tried to maintain her composure. "Smooth talker, aren't you?"
Kenzo chuckled, a low, soothing sound that seemed to resonate in the quiet of the evening. "Just speaking the truth."
Maki could feel her heart pounding in her chest as Kenzo leaned in, his face dangerously close to hers. His hands rested gently on her hips, sending a shiver down her spine. The playful atmosphere took a more intimate turn, and Maki found herself caught in the moment.
Her breath caught as she looked into Kenzo's eyes, a mix of teasing and sincerity dancing in them. The training ground seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in that moment.
"So, what's your answer, Maki-chan?" Kenzo whispered, his voice soft and low.
Maki's mind raced, but she couldn't deny the warmth and comfort she felt in Kenzo's presence. She leaned in slightly, closing the distance between them, and said, "Maybe I don't mind interesting."
A mischievous smile played on Kenzo's lips as he savored the response.
Kenzo chuckled softly, his hands still resting on Maki's hips. "Interesting, huh? I'll take that as a good sign."
She didnt say no.....and she wasn't pushing him off so that a good sign.
Maki felt a mix of emotions—nervousness, excitement, and a touch of vulnerability. She wasn't used to letting someone get so close, but there was an undeniable pull. As she gazed into Kenzo's eyes, she found a sincerity that made her feel surprisingly at ease.
"So what is it going to be Maki-chan are you really going to make me wait"Kenzo said with a grin
Maki couldn't help but smile back, her earlier reservations giving way to a hint of playfulness. "Maybe I'll keep you waiting for a bit. Can't make it too easy for you, right?"
Kenzo raised an eyebrow, feigning surprise. "Oh, playing hard to get now, are we?"
"Maybe," Maki replied, her smirk growing more pronounced.
Kenzo smiled before he kissed her on the lips, after a bit he pulled away saying "How about now"
Maki, slightly taken aback by the unexpected kiss, blinked for a moment before a subtle smile played on her lips. "Well, that certainly speeds things up."
Kenzo grinned, his usual confidence on full display. "I thought it might."
"Remember the favor you owe me," Kenzo said, gently caressing Maki's face. She nodded in acknowledgment, and Kenzo's smile widened. "Then all I want in exchange is for you and me to be together."
Maki felt a warmth spreading within her, and as their eyes locked, the unspoken promise hung in the air.
"I'll take your silence as a yes," Kenzo said, a smile playing on his lips.
As Kenzo cradled Maki in his arms amidst the tranquility of the training field, the gentle rustle of leaves and the distant echoes of sparring warriors created an intimate backdrop. The soft hues of twilight bathed the scene in a warm glow, casting long shadows across the landscape.
As if on cue, Panda strolled onto the training field, his sharp eyes quickly honing in on the tender tableau before him. A triumphant smirk played on his lips as he observed Maki nestled securely in Kenzo's embrace.
"I knew it," Panda declared with a tone that resonated with the satisfaction of a treasure hunter striking gold. His words hung in the air, a proclamation of victory, as he marveled at the unexpected sight before him. It was as though he had uncovered a well-kept secret, and the realization painted his expression with a mix of amusement and delight.
"Hello there, Panda," Kenzo greeted with a calm and composed demeanor, his gaze unwavering as he met Panda's eyes. Despite the unexpected circumstance of holding Maki in his arms, Kenzo seemed frankly unphased.
Panda, still reveling in his victorious discovery, raised an eyebrow as he studied Kenzo's composed expression. "Well, well, what have we here?" he remarked, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "Caught you in a compromising position, didn't I?"
"Not really," Kenzo said calmly, maintaining his composed demeanor. However, Maki's discomfort was evident as she shifted awkwardly, casting a quick glance at Panda, who seemed skeptical.
"Are you sure?" Panda questioned, his tone carrying a playful skepticism that indicated he wasn't entirely convinced by Kenzo's assurance.
"Yep, 100% sure," Kenzo affirmed, the small smile on his face hinting at a hint of amusement. He continued, addressing Panda's implied doubt, "Is it really a compromising position to begin with if you yourself said that you knew it?"
"Anyway,i need to go train Yuji and Megumi"Kenzo said nonchantly.
"Dont miss me to much Maki"Kenzo said while walking away.
"Dont overestimate yourself"Maki said as she was trying her hardest to make it look like he wasnt getting in her head.
Kenzo smiled before walking away leaving Maki with Panda who seemed to be smiling as he looked at Maki.
"So..how is it going"Panda said upon looking at Maki with a grin on his face.
"There's nothing to talk about," Maki asserted with a stoic expression, her gaze fixed on Panda as if daring him to press further.
Panda, however, refused to let the matter drop. "What do you mean there's nothing to talk about? You two were all lovey-dovey... I saw it," he declared, a knowing smile playing on his face.
Maki's facade wavered for a moment, a subtle flush coloring her cheeks. She scoffed, attempting to deflect Panda's observation. "Lovey-dovey? Please, Panda, don't let your imagination run wild. Kenzo was just being his usual self."
Panda raised an eyebrow, unfazed by Maki's attempt to downplay the situation. "Uh-huh, sure. Just Kenzo being Kenzo, holding you like a delicate flower in the middle of the training field. Nothing out of the ordinary, right?"
