-----Yui's POV

Yui: "We should start heading over there."

Kaede: "Mmmm~ I bit longer."

Ever since that day when I took off with Kaede, we've been spending more time together alone. Today is one of those days. Although we're able to cuddle up like this in bed, we're still not allowed to sleep together as she's still under supervision.

It's been around 3 weeks since then and according to mom, everyone seemed to have finally settled. Apparently the letter I was given to by the queen to give to mom was just notifying her of some of her people transferring over to our city. Of course this led to more work being pushed over to mom, but today is the day where we can take a break. But today isn't just a break day, but is also the celebration of Luna's birthday, good timing if I'm honest.

After cuddling in bed for 10 or so minutes, we finally hop out of bed before putting our clothes back on. Our hair ended up being an even bigger mess than I thought, but I guess we were going at it for a couple hours.

Kaede got dressed in her more casual outfit with the white leather jacket while I put on what I usually wear, long sleeved shirt that has my family's insignia on it with long pants, putting my hair up into a ponytail.

Kaede: "Hehe, you should wear that dress again sometime."

Yui: "You liked it that much?"

Kaede: "Of course."

Yui: "Hmm? Maybe."

I still don't like wearing clothes like that, but if Kaede really liked it that much, then maybe I'd consider it. Although I may need Natalie to help dress me in it as it seems difficult to do alone.

Yui: "Okay, let's go. We're already late."

Kaede: "Then, I have an idea."

Just as I was going to open the door, Kaede instead moved to the window before opening it up to the balcony. The wind gushes inside as the smell of the ocean fills the room.

Kaede: "Let's just fly down."

In the next instant, she grew out her wings out on the balcony as my eyes lit up in excitement.

Yui: "Mm!"

I run over to Kaede as she gently lifts me up in a bridal carry position. We're so high up as it is thanks to the cliff, so even though we're not in the air yet, I still feel the sense of vertigo.

Kaede: "Ready?"

I nod my head as I grab hold of Kaede's body. And in the next moment, we leapt off of the balcony as we gently glided through the air, turning right to where the beach is. We're still far away from everyone, but I can make out their tiny figures from up here. The wind was quite gentle compared to last time as I could easily keep my eyes open as the wind blows against us as we slowly descend down to the beach. The weather also wasn't too cold despite it being winter which was refreshing to see.

The tiny figures slowly grew larger and larger until I could make out exactly who they were. Luna and her family was of course there along with my mom, Alice and Natalie. The masked supervisor was also there with Fleur, Faye, Mell, Sicily and Lillian. But what was surprising was that Collin and his family also showed up, along with Olivia and Gabriella. I haven't had the chance to talk to them so I'm actually feeling excited seeing everyone again.

Luna was the first one to spot us as she waved out to us which made everyone else take notice of us before we finally land. Kaede plops me down on my feet before retracting her wings as Luna immediately rushes in, wrapping her arms around me as she squeezes me tightly.

Yui: "Happy birthday, Luna."

Luna: "Thanks!"

Nick: "Man, I didn't get to see it the first time, but you really are a vampire."

Kaede: "Mhmm! Be careful or I might suck your blood."

Nick: "Pfft. I'll pass on that."

Thanks to Kaede revealing herself to almost everyone, Luna's family did end up hearing about it from word of mouth, but this is their first time actually seeing Kaede since then. I was a little bit worried, but after hearing the banter between Kaede and Nick, I'm put at ease as Luna finally breaks away from our hug.

Yui: "How's your back?"

Luna: "Still okay. I can't see it so I don't think I have to worry about it."

Kaede: "Did you want me to try healing it again? I can try and heal the scar if you-"

Luna: "It's okay. I'm actually fond of the scar in a way."

Her face becomes flushed upon saying that as she looks into my eyes.

Elira: "See~ I told you she'd prefer to have it."

William: "Mm."

Seeing Luna this happy with it soothes my heart as we both share a smile together. I still remember just how much blood was pouring out of her back, not to mention how deathly pale she looked, so seeing her this lively again is such a breath of fresh air.

Gabriella: "I still can't believe that we have a vampire on our side."

Collin: "A vampire that can go toe to toe with our headmaster."

I guess rumors have spread all around regarding that battle now. But looking at everyone, no one seems to be frightened of Kaede now which does make me happy knowing that they accept her for who she is.

Olivia: "D-did you end up killing the headmaster?"

Kaede: "No, he got away while we retreated."

Violet: "What was it like fighting him?"

Kaede: "He was strong. I think I would've had a harder time if I didn't have Yui there to support me."

I feel happy that I contributed in the fight, even if it was a passive role. But I do remember causing his body to explode in his flame magic which did end up turning the tide in the fight, so maybe I should give myself more credit there.

Violet: "How much magic did he use? Was it all elements like-"

Iris: "Okay~ That's enough of that talk. We're here to relax, not talk about fighting."

Violet: "S-sorry, lady Iris."

Kaede: "Hehe. But yes, to answer your question, he used all elements beside water I believe."

Alice: "I recall seeing him using water magic before."

Nick: "So the legend is true..."

It would feel more exciting learning about this if Mai hadn't already told us the true meaning of magic. Technically everyone can use all elements, just that people have biases. The fact that I can control all elements besides light magic makes me believe in it more so.

We end up sitting down on towels that Ann, Natalie and Olivia set out for us. The wind was still cool since it is winter at the moment, but the hot sand heating up the towels underneath us balanced out the cool air. We all take in the wonderful sight that is the ocean, Mell ends up sitting between Kaede's legs, leaning up against her chest with Sicily and Lillian to her right. Fleur and Faye on the other hand put some distance from everyone else, staying to the side of Lillian along with their supervisor. I guess they're struggling with so many humans around...

?: "Sorry I'm late!"

A sudden voice shouted out behind us as we all turn our heads. It was a man with dark orange hair, maybe even closer to brown. And behind him was a wagon that looked to be stockpiled with food and drinks.

Olivia: "Father?"

Wait, this man is Olivia's father? I guess I've never gotten the chance to meet him but I guess now I can see the similarities between the two of them.

Olivia: "I thought you were too busy to come?"

?: "Haha. I was "busy" preparing all of this. Lady Iris gave this task to me personally."

Iris: "Thank you, Bennet. And you're not late at all, so come. Please join us."

Bennet: "Thank you."

He sat down with his daughter, Olivia after bringing the wagon just before the beach. Olivia looks to be ecstatic after seeing her father, likely because of how busy he must've been. I do recall him working under my mom with the trade routes so he's likely been getting put to work already as we came here.

Bennet: "Ah hello again."

Kaede: "Hi."

Do these two know each other?

Kaede: "Uhm. Thank you for keeping my secret from back then. I never got the chance to thank you enough."

Bennet: "Haha. It's okay. Plus it doesn't look like you need me to keep any secrets with the whole of Yarene knowing of your existence."

Kaede: "Hehe, I guess that's true. But I'd like to thank you anyways."

Bennet: "Was the least I could do."

Olivia: "Yeah! Thank you for saving father from back then!"

Suddenly, I feel something lean up against my left shoulder as I quickly spot the familiar pink hair blowing into my vision.

Luna: "Hah~ This is nice."

Yui: "Mm. I feel like we can finally relax."

I glance back towards Kaede who seems to still be talking with those two, but we lock eyes for a moment as she smiles at the two of us. I knew she wouldn't have a problem with Luna acting like this, but it's nice to feel that with her smile as well.

Luna: "I know "we" can. But I do wonder what everyone else is doing back in Inasdale."

My mind quickly thinks of my brother as she says that. I do hope everything is going okay. I wouldn't be surprised if father has taken over mom's territory, not that there's any servants or civilians to take advantage though, that land is basically useless now. Fabian will be finishing his studies at the academy soon, so maybe he'll be granted a high position in the army. I do hope it doesn't come down to us fighting in the future...

Luna: "Worried about your brother?"

Yui: "Hmm?"

Luna: "Hehe. I can tell just by the look you're making."

Yui: "I thought I fixed that problem of mine."

Luna: "Nope~ You're still as easy as ever to read~"

She nudges her head deeper into my shoulder as I end up resting my head against hers as we both watch the waves crashing over one another before spreading out over the shore.

In the corner of my eye, I can see Nick laying down on Alice's lap which gets a chuckles out of me. It's impossible for me to imagine it being the other way around with Alice resting on Nick's lap.

Ann: "Does anyone want anything?"

Violet: "Something to drink please, mom."

Mell: "Something sweet please~"

Rupert: "Ah! I'll help."

Natalie: "Me too. Ellen, you want anything?"

Yui: "I'm good for now."

And so, Ann, Rupert and Natalie handed out drinks and food to everyone who wanted some. Sicily and Lillian end up going to the wagon themselves, grabbing some food before sitting back down on Kaede's side. I let out a long, soft exhale at how peaceful everything seems to be.

Yui: "I hope things stay like this forever."

Luna: "Mmm. Same here."
