Adrian’s POV
I frowned as I listened to what Lily was saying. I was curious about what they were talking about on the phone after hearing the words 'childhood sweetheart’. My heart raced again.
“That’s impossible,” Lily said. “If I am his childhood sweetheart I doubt he’ll accept me because I already have a child and am married.”
My grip on the steering wheel tightened on what I heard. I was not a narrow-minded person. A few moments later, Lily lowered her phone and looked at me with a smile. I felt the warmth inside my chest. I looked away and focused on my driving.
After a couple of minutes, we arrived at the restaurant. We occupied the table facing the door. When we saw the waiter being bumped into by a woman hurrying out of the restaurant, Lily looked at me as if she remembered something from that scene.
“You know what? It also happened to me before, I was in a hurry to get out of the restaurant and bumped into a man.”
