BEST FRIENDS
Lily's POV
“Finally, you’re done. I thought you would stay there for more than an hour. I thought about opening the door and checking on you,” Adrian said. He lowered the glass of wine.
“I’m sorry if I took time to come out of the washroom,” I said.
“No, it’s okay. I am just teasing you. Are you ready? Let’s go outside before the food gets cold,” Adrian said.
“Okay,” I replied. When Adrian left the room, I grabbed my phone and dialed Sonia’s number. But she was not picking up.
Adrian peeked from the door and called me so I followed him. We were almost done eating when Vincent called me. I ignored the call until it stopped ringing.
“Why didn't you answer the call?” Adrian asked.
“I will call him back later after we eat,” I said.
After a moment, Adrian asked, “How long have you been married to Vincent?”
“Barely five years,” I answered before I ate a spoonful of food.
“Where did you meet him?” he glanced at me over his glass of water.
