We arrived home several minutes ago, and now I'm sitting at the quiet kitchen, feeling really tired. This exhaustion is weighing on my shoulders, and the pangs of hunger is echoing through my empty stomach.
"You okay?" Asks Justin.
The dim light seems to highlight my fatigued expression, making the anticipation of a warm meal all the more enticing.
"Yeah.. I'm just hungry."
"Should I turn on the brighter light? Ah, sorry.. A stupid question," says Justin as he turns on the bigger light at the center of the kitchen, to make the room way brighter. "Better, right?"
I smile, while he's taking out a large box of frozen pizza from the fridge.
"Is this pizza gonna be enough for the three of us?" He asks. "This is the fastest food I can prepare now."
"Yaayyy pizza!" Screams Kia as she enters the kitchen with a cheerful smile.
I nod fast. When I see Kia, I feel like she's transferring her energy to me.
