Raynold was staring out of the window in his chamber. He was quite upset by today's events. He expected some sort of resistance from Theodora, but he had never expected her to go to that length.
That also made him wonder how Edwin had handled her and his uncle all these years. He vividly remembered how Augustus accused Raynold's father of trying to create a rift between him and Lord Walter for his personal benefit.
He also remembered how humiliated his father felt. And that was the last time the Berrycloths had kept any contact with the O'Dells because his father didn't want his sister to face the consequences of those misunderstandings.
That was the last time they had kept any contact with the O'Dells. The only time they visited Vincardine was after Walter and Margaret's death. But even then, Raynold's father refused to cross the gate of the place where he was insulted. And without his sister and brother-in-law, he had nothing to do there.
