Theodora and Augustus stood on the balcony that faced the shed. Though Theodora had to strain her ears to listen to the light sounds, Augustus could hear them more clearly.
"What is happening there, Augustus?" She asked when she couldn't understand it.
"I don't know but... I can hear their angry growls." He told truthfully.
Theodora tsked in annoyance. "If only we had someone in there to report us."
Augustus didn't say anything as he stared at the shed from a distance. Theodora too was silent for a while, observing her husband carefully.
She asked after a minute, not able to hold back. "What are you thinking, Augustus?"
Her gentle voice always opened his toughest exteriors.
His gaze didn't move from the shed as he spoke, "I am thinking about the cubs, Theodora." A pain flickered on his face. "They are... they are just the kids! They don't deserve this."
Theodora's face softened. She understood what her husband was trying to say.
