Chapter 16: Trending

City Hospital, Seoul.

After completing three open heart surgeries back to back, Soo Min walked out of the operation theater exhausted.

She removed her mask and walked over to the basin right outside the operating room, and washed her hands.

To lessen the stiffness she felt all over her body, Soo Min moved her neck left and right then raised her arms to do some quick stretches, before heading over to the cafeteria.

After ordering herself a hot cup of coffee, she went and sat down at a vacant table. Her legs felt so numb after standing for countless hours.

Soo Min took out her phone from her lab coat pocket and opened the message from her friend, Noah. It was the pictures from last night's party.

She smiled as she looked through all the pictures one by one, while she sipped her coffee, but stopped at a particular one, when she saw 'that' man in the corner of the picture.

"Guess he's always had that stone face." Soo Min scoffed looking at the frowning man, probably yelling at his assistant for something, as she saw the frightened face of Assistant Yoon next to him.

But then memories of last night flooded into her mind as her mind slipped into a light trance.

She unconsciously touched her soft pink lips while the entire scene from yesterday's party replayed in her mind.

"Soo Min."

"Soo Min... HELLO?! Are you even listening?"

"PARK SOO MIN!"

Soo Min got startled in her somber state and immediately looked up at Olivia, who was standing right next to her.

"What's with you being so lost in thought?" Olivia asked as she pulled out the chair and sat opposite to Soo Min, who stared at her blankly.

Olivia's eyebrows rose, with a smug face, she questioned "Let me guess, you were busy thinking about what happened with Mr. Handsome yesterday, am I right?"

Soo Min nearly spat out all the contents of her coffee at her friend's comment and her face turned pink in embarrassment.

"I am not!" Soo Min tried to defend herself and if she remembered correctly, Olivia wasn't exactly present at the scene to witness 'that' event, and continued, "Besides, it wasn't a kiss and you weren't even there, so how do you know, huh?"

"Oh I didn't have to be there to know, darling." Olivia giggled before searching up something on and phone and showing it to Soo Min, who's eyes widened in disbelief when she saw the video.

"See?"

Her eyes trailed down to look at the number of views, it had passed over a billion, and she was now practically a laughing stock.

If it wasn't for her face to be slightly blurred, then who knows what would have happened to her, as that Ryan Song has some serious fan following.

"Give me that!" Soo Min was about to snatch the phone away, but Olivia was quick to retract her hand.

"There's not point in taking the phone away from me, you know. That video is already viral... hot kiss... mysterious woman..." Olivia continued to explain but paused when she felt Soo Min glaring at her.

A few hours later.

After completing her usual hospital rounds, Soo Min went back into her office to complete some paperwork and finish studying the leftover patient cases.

She then got up to grab her medical help book to help her with a patient's case, when all of a sudden her phone rang.

Soo Min walked over to her office desk and picked up the vibrating phone, before answering the call.

"Hello dad? Mm.... Today? Okay, I understand. Yes... I'll be there soon."

The call ended and Soo Min heaved a long sigh. Today was going to be a long day indeed.
