Building strength to survive

Returning to the island where Mizushi, his wife, and his son were, the atmosphere was calm. Sunny, the weather starting to clear, the clouds wide and the winds at normal speed, not causing much concern.

Although the family relationship was calm, Mizushi worried about survival on that island. He knew it was just a matter of time for them to survive there. Days passed, weeks passed, and the question of surviving, feeding, and caring diminished; compromising the health, not only of Mizushi, but also of his wife, Laís Spendy, and his son, Dagurasu.

As Mizushi thought and reflected on his current situation on that island, a guy who had known him for some time was about to face off again. That fellow was Spiner. The right-hand man of the Akai gang leader.

Spiner and his cronies were slowly making their way to the island. Along the way, they experienced some storms but nothing prevented or compromised their journey. Mizushi never imagined that someone could land on that island just to look for him.

In addition to Mizushi being concerned about his survival on the island, Laís, his wife, was also very distressed to learn that time had passed and nothing had changed. She was already running out of strength to continue; no prospects.

During the entire day on the island, Mizushi tells Laís:

"Honey, we know we're gonna stay, with each passing day our lives get a little shorter."

"Stop it Mizushi, this makes me more upset than I already am." Says Lais.

"I know. Don't be like that. We'll be out of here soon, I promise you." Says Mizushi.

After the dialogue between them, his son, Dagurasu, also felt the same. However, he had self-awareness and confidence in himself to be able to transform that environment without ideas and perspectives into something new. And that's what Dagurasu suggested to his father. He was brave.

"Dad, you know what, I think we should go back to our house. Our hometown. Where we came from? You can't go on like this, like this!"

"Son, you don't know the consequences of living in that city. I already told you that there is no way to survive there. We are here on this island to try to escape the dismal state we find ourselves in that urban and hostile environment."

Dagurasu is crestfallen and responds to his father:

"No, that to me is worse than staying there!"

Mizushi looks at his son, who is already starting to get emotional. Laís goes to her son and hugs him. But Dagurasu manages to contain his emotion and raises his head saying:

"I, I will never give up on my life!"

Mizushi is surprised to see him, his determined son, speaking those encouraging words. His essence, everyone's strength began to emerge.

A few days passed before Spiner reached the island. Mizushi gets up and speaks to Dagurasu:

"Look, I'm glad to hear that from you. I'm glad you seem a little confident despite everything we're going through. I believe in our overcoming and improving our lives."

After the conversation between the two, Laís also gets a little emotional and goes to them. And she says:

"Mizushi, I'm with my son. What he said now is true. We need our strength to get out of this uncomfortable situation. I know that on this island there are no gangs or thieves or monsters that can kill us or anything like that."

At that moment of the interaction of the three, the wind began to act faster. It felt like the weather was changing. Mizushi's hair moved, leaving everything messy. The familiar atmosphere, to some extent, began to become sweet, calm; still.

"You're right. We won't be able to survive on this island for long." Said Mizushi.

"Yes, love. Is it just now that the penny has dropped?" Ask Laís.

"Laís, I am not so naive as not to realize the situation we are going through."

Soon after, Dagurasu leaves the hut a little happy to hear his father speak.

"Friend, wherever you are, I will miss you and hope you are well." Arnold thinks as he arrives at his house after walking a few miles.

Arnold goes into his house, takes out his cell phone, and calls López, who answers:

"Says Arnold, are you okay?"

"Yes, Lopez. I am fine. And you?"

"It's okay with me. So what do you want to talk about?

"It's about my friend who seems to be on an island near this town."

"Ah yes, that friend of yours. Know," said Lopez.

"I'm a little worried about him. I don't know if he's okay there. So I was thinking of organizing ourselves to try to go after him. What do you think?"

"Arnold, this is not cool. I know that you know my profession, as it is related to the creation of wood for boat building in general. We just don't know if we can reach out and find your friend.

"But man, my friend, look, he's gone!" Arnold exclaims.

"I know. I want to help you with this, Arnold."

A day goes by and Spiner was more and more approaching your destination. The subordinates were starting to get anxious.

"Haha! Hey Spiner, are we coming?" asked one of the subordinates.

"Yes, we are almost there." Answers Spiner.

There were still about two days left for them to arrive at the island where Mizushi was.

Mizushi decides to call his son Dagurasu to fetch more water from the island. The two leave the hut and pick up the wooden buckets they built to fill with water. The island had some clean water reserves. There was not only salty seawater. They drew those waters from the fountain.

"Dad, when are we going back to the city? You said you think about leaving here. Speak Dagurasu.

"When we managed to stabilize ourselves better. We are not ready to move yet and we leave this island."

"I hope you are being sincere, sorry dad."

"No son. It's good too."

After fetching water, the two return to the hut. The day was already getting dark. Mizushi lights the fire. He calls his son and wife. Then he says:

"This bonfire says how much we are still alive. It is the strength of these flames that holds us together." The three are holding hands.
