Chapter 14 - When the Wolves Cried Out

Morgan barely noticed how low the sun was in the sky when they emerged from the cave. She pulled out the contract, she knew the words written there already, but some part of her doubted they’d say the same thing. Surely it was too good to be true.

“Your last contract,” Kylon observed, looking over her shoulder at the parchment.

“Yes, it must be done. No matter what,” She hastily rolled the parchment up and neatly stowed it in her bag again. They had a long few months ahead of them, potentially more. With any luck, it would all start making sense. No matter what, she had to get those answers. Her stomach twisted thinking about it, what it could lead her to. Did she really want to know?

Kylon scoffed and grabbed my arm. “Come on,” He took off, pulling her along with him. Luciack followed, annoyed by the familiarity of his gesture. She didn’t know what was happening to her anymore, dragged along by him to Deus know where.
