Someone new. [Day 2]

For a bed made of rock and furs, it was not the worst I have ever slept on. The worst is still held by when I had to sleep in a dumpster as a drug war was happening on my original squat house. That was a week after my brother had kicked me out.

But no need to think of those grim thoughts now life is looking up for me. Hopefully.

Looking out of the cave I can see that the sun is starting to rise so with no time to waste I prepare to go out and hunt again. Eating some of the dried Eiri meat for breakfast I then grab my flint knife and my rabbit horn and head out.

Down at the river again I continue my path from yesterday listening for any sound coming from the forest or trying to smell anything. After a half an hour walk, I hear whimpering coming from the forest.

Quickly moving in the direction, I am met with an odd sight. I find a group of Eiri attacking what looks like a very injured Young Wolf which is guarding a wolf pup. Although it does not look like the Young wolf is going down without a fight as there are four dead Eiri around it and only two other Eiri alive but also injured.

Just as I emerge out of the trees, I see the two Eiri try and finish the fight as it looks like the Young Wolf can't move anymore. Deciding to help the Young Wolf as I would rather it survive and take care of the pup. I again try and throw my rabbit horn but miss. I should practice that later. Whilst the Eiri are surprised by my arrival I quickly manage to finish them both off by slashing them.

Going up to the wolves I see that the Young Wolf is too weak to even get up now. As I move closer, I then see the small pup run in front of the mother and growl at me.

Me: "I don't mean any harm." I say whilst raising my hands.

The mother then does a feeble bark at the pup which makes it run to its mother and rub their noses together. Then after a while, the mother pushes the pup towards me.

Seeing the pup not want to leave I pick it up and hold him closer to me hiding his face from his mother. Not wanting the mother to slowly bleed out I kneel to it and with my free hand pierce the mother with my knife killing it.

Taking some of the Eiri corpses that I can carry along with the pup and re-picking up the rabbit horn I leave the area and head back to the river.

Once back at the river I gut the Eiri and head back to the cave. On the way back I notice that the pup has fallen asleep in my arm.

Once in the cave, I put the pup on my bed and then cooks some of the Eiri and the other I make into jerky again. This should give me plenty of food to last a while.

Whilst still cooking the Eiri the pup wakes up and trots over to me and falls over on my foot bring his feet up.

Me: "You hungry little guy."

Picking up some of the jerkies from before I feed it to him which he devours until none of the original jerkies is left.

Me: "Little hungry monster aren't you. I need a name for you … Rex, I will name you Rex."

Whilst Rex finish off the last of his jerky I decide to Identify him.

He doesn't have a rank. Could be that he has not finished growing yet, so it looks like a wild monster when they first start of have no rank then when they finish growing, they rank up. Wonder what would happen if you gave them EXP before they finish growing.

Looking at Rex I now see that he has gone back to sleep. All the food must have tired him out along with his battle.

Seeing how I have the time I decide it is time to evolve.

Race: Kabalt, Rank: F-

Kabalt is the more advanced form of Kobolt due to being taller, stronger, and smarter. However, they often are not the strongest in the wild so learn how to create and wield tools, weapons, and armour to defend themselves.

Race: Lajjo, Rank: F-

Lajjo is Kobolt who have accepted more of their animalistic side often being mistaken for large wolves due to their simplistic characteristics and walking on four paws. However, they are different to wolves as they can still communicate through advanced language and are stronger than young wolves.

Both options seem good with Kabalt staying more humanoid and Lajjo are more animals.

I will go with Kabalt as I want to keep my humanoid traits.

Well, I guess that means that I would have to feel the pain of evolution like in some of the novels I read as a kid.

With my evolution done I also do my stats and keep with the STR and AGI but also to put some in VIT and I have noticed that I get dangerously low sometimes.

With that My health is now up to 12 and I feel stronger than yesterday. I can see some small muscles on my spaghetti body.

With most of the days still left, I need to do something for it to wait for my evolution.
