Life is difficult enough for a Lirian soldier. Training for ten years, hunting evil deimos, solving crimes, facing powerful weilders, keeping the peace in a tension-filled world, each Lirian soldier has a lot on their plate. It doesn't become any easier if you have to deal with a dark past that looms at every corner. How will Lais Felix and Helen Song, two best friends with tragic pasts, handle life as soldiers while running from their past? Will they manage to escape their tragic beginnings? Or will the past finally catch up to them?

LAIS

To be perfectly honest, I'm not much of a fan of Monday morning ceremonies. They're the only one time we're required to wear our military issued hats. And I don't like hats, they make my hair go all sticky-uppy and out of place. I know I can totally rock a messy look, but I prefer tto look like a refined person. It's easier to make friends when you look prim and proper.

Still, we all need to look our best for the flag raising ceremony. It's a requirement for every soldier to take part in the ceremony, and all must wear their full regalia, no exceptions. Even Len is wearing her hat, though she's still sticking to using her office uniform. To be blunt, we all look like we're having a state leader every Monday.

The bell rings, and everyone gathers at the headquarters' training ground. We arrange ourselves by team number. I stand in front of my team, and we all face the pole that carries the flag of the country.

"Attention!" says the adjutant.
