To walk on water

The Sun released its warm rays to the small village of Xir, a village of about three hundred individuals up north of the Tumalak kingdom just before the border of Xianyu.

The village was surrounded by large mountains and hills, it was also blessed with Wildlife and Greenery. Certainly a beautiful place.

People were about doing the only work available in the village, they were either farming, feeding their animals, watering their plants or tending to an even more mundane activity.

This was the average lifestyle of a Xir inhabitant except for the Gullands, the only family with cultivation prowess across the village and the family with the most standing.

To many, the Gullands were just a bunch of power-hungry freaks who chose the Xir village to lord over the powerless, a couple think that they're a band of bandits who suddenly chose to usurp the previous village head's seat upon their arrival but to the majority, the Gullands were symbols of strength they could rely on, staying this isolated poses many troubles especially that of bandits since their arrival, bandits have known to avoid their location not to incur their wrath.

In this little village, in a fairly large wooden house was Narwind. He was glaring at his brother with just a thought in mind.

' Why is he the one who got to be able to wield Mana this early? Why?'

To see Seyus glad was almost like poison to him but he soon dismissed the thought. His brother was a one-in-a-million prodigy, he should be proud not to mention he gets to master him.

" Brother Narwind, I'm in your hands." Seyus walked forward to him and bowed.

' Thank goodness, your head is still properly on your head.'

" Fine. Let's move to the waterfall. It's where I train all the time." Narwind stated.

All four of them got to leave the room, Seyus went to fill his tummy with a light meal while Gazhan went to tend to the chickens and cattle.

Miya had gotten up from her bed and was on her way outside when she met Seyus, she instantly noticed that something was different.

" Huh?" Although his ki wasn't flaring, she could still tell that there was a subtle difference between his energy yesterday and how it was now.

" Narwind."

" Yes, mother."

" Why don't I join you two today?"

" That's fine Mother. We'll be pleased to have you." He politely responded.

Seyus hastily gobbled down his meal and hurried to his brother.

" Keep up." He said.

His ki energy rose until it was all about him shining brightly.

He dashed down the hill their residence stood scaring the cocks and cattle that witnessed his descent.

" Fast."

" What a show-off." Miya's feet left the green soil, her body began an uplift in the air.

" Just follow me."

Seyus took a deep breath, he clutched his fists and took them to his flanks imitating a stance he saw in a book the other day.

His ki grew but it wasn't as violent as Narwind's, the blue energy danced about the young boy undulating calmly.

Miya saw that he was prepared and she zoomed at the trail of Narwind.

Seyus followed diligently from behind, his feet making a dust storm behind and leaving deep imprints on the soil.

Fortunately for Seyus, Miya kept her word and flew at a pace that he was able to follow.

They passed through a couple of villagers. Miya stopped to offer greetings to which they warmly replied.

Many were slightly shocked to see their young Lord with so much power already. They had always thought of him as the failure amongst the Gullands after showing no prowess for so long.

After five minutes, the two got to their destination crossing over three kilometers.

Narwind was at the heart of the mountain that directly faced their residence.

Black slippery rocks were about and he could be seen in the lotus position sitting on the wet ground and absorbing the Mana in the environment.

He felt as one with his environment as he took inhales of fresh air overflowing with Mana. Suddenly, he opened his eyes.

" You certainly took your time."

Seyus took a long look at his surrounding, tilting his head as he saw for the first time a place like this. The mountain foot was peculiar, it had many black juts above where one could just sit and meditate.

Cool water poured from above to continue to a river below.

" Usually, I sit right up there to meditate. I get to see the trees and the little creatures between them reminding me of the beauty of nature and what it means to preserve it." Narwind stated, he pointed to one of the rocky protrusions that looked just as slippery with its glisten.

" Stand on the river. " Narwind instructed. Miya moved back to watch.

" Usually, at the second and third level of the body soul incipient stage, training to maintain ki balance is the priority. We won't get to skip this training just because you skipped levels. Show me what you have."

Seyus nodded in affirmation, he put off his brown sandals and walked to the bank of the river.

There he remembered, he suddenly put off his brown shirt and gave it to Miya.

" I wouldn't want to spoil my favorite shirt."

Narwind scoffed.

" Don't raise your ki levels, just concentrate an ample ki at your soles." he stated.

Seyus closed his eyes, he focused on the Ki branches throughout his body, his newly formed core at the center of his abdomen bustling with energy. Ki from his core slowly slipped downwards to the Ki branches of his leg and then to his feet.

He placed his right foot on the water body and instead of him to sink with the cold embracing him, his foot remained afloat.

He slowly opened an eye and looked below to witness that he hadn't sunk and with that, he took the second step putting himself on the flowing water body.
