Chapter 4:

   Once in the car, Gerard demanded the destination, Shally asked him if he knows the house of  the old people in the city and Gerard was like: "What? You are working there too?" The answer was 'No' to both Shally and Gerard's question, Gerard has nothing to do in places likes these so Shally oriented him. When they got there, Shally asked him if he was going with her or he'll wait in the car, at first he said he'd wait in the car because he didn't want to get to a place like that but suddenly he realised that women take long in everything so he said he preferred to go with her just to make sure she doesn't take long to be finally able to have the damn dinner, if it wasn't for the deal he had and the confidence he said he'll get her in a blink of eye with, he would never handle such things. Gerard was curious to know what Shally could be doing in this place so Shally explained: "I come here every day in this hour just to visit my parents, after they both got old and unable to work, I couldn't have them with me looking to how much they need to be taken care of and they also get sick sometimes so I need to be with them all the time, make sure they eat, wash, have their medicines but that way I can't work at all, I won't have the time, in the same time I can't get someone to take care of them because I don't have enough money so I put them here and started doing as many jobs as I can to save as much money as I can to be able to get them home and every day I pass to see them an hour then have to leave to work in a bar, I don't want them to feel abandoned." Gerard said in shock: "Are you going to another job after this? What about the dinner?" Shally looked him annoyed: "

× Seriously? This is what you're thinking of right now?

× Don't mind me, it is a sad story but do you know what kind of sad story I'll be in if we don't go to the dinner?

× (Sighed) I got fired from that one yesterday, don't worry we're going to have your dinner."Then she murmured between her and herself: "I started hating dinner."

Shally went to see her parents, all the old people were in a room watching TV, Shally greeted everyone and everyone greeted Shally, since she goes every day there, they all know her and she knows them all, she even passes to see them and have some times with them especially those abandoned by their family; while she was walking toward her parents, she was having small talk with the old people and laughs, Gerard was just staring at Shally, for a second he thought she's beautiful when she laughs. An old woman started talking to Shally in Spanish: "

× ¡Hola mi chica! ¿Como estas hoy? (Hello my girl! How are you today?)

× Estoy feliz de verte, ¿y tú? (I'm happy to see you, and you?)

× Yo también estoy feliz de verte. ¿Quién es este chico? El es muy guapo. (I'm happy to see you too. Who's this boy? He is very handsome)

× Es verdad, el es. Tengo ir ahora, te veo mañana." (It's true, he is. I have to go now, see you tomorrow)

When Shally arrived next to her parents, she said: "

× Hey mom! Hey dad! How are you today?

× We are good sweetheart." Responded her father.

× "Who's this guy?" Asked her mother with a Spanish accent and a suspecting look.

× "This guy here is...Gerard and...he is helping me with a job, that's why I...need to leave early today but I promise it will only be this time." Stuttered Shally.

Shally's mother reached for her ear and murmured: "Dijiste que no tienes nada con los ricos, espero que sigas en tus palabras." (You said you have nothing to do with rich people, I hope you're still at your words)Shally looked in her eyes and smiled: "No te preocupes mamá, todavía estoy en mis palabras." (Don't worry mom, I'm still at my words) After this, the young man and woman got out, got to the car and finally they'll prepare for the dinner; when they were in the car, Gerard asked: "

× Who was the man of earlier? The one standing next to the office?

× That's the house's responsible, why?

× Nothing, he was just looking with a weird way, like he got a problem with me.

× That's because he likes me so it bothers him to see me with a man being afraid I'll get committed, it's nothing personal.

× If he's that afraid, why doesn't he just ask you out?

× He did, twice actually but I refused.

× Why? Isn't he rich enough for you?

× I'm not looking for a man right now, I have more serious and important things to take care of and worry about."

After this, they started preparing for the dinner; Gerard bought her a dress first, then took her to a beauty salon to take care of the hair and makeup, meanwhile, he called a private photographer to take care of the photos part and here was Shally ready, she is really a beauty, she looked just stunning; Gerard widened his eyes: "Honestly! I didn't expect you to look this good, awesome, my mother will definitely be convinced."

   At last, the time Gerard waited for came which is to sit on a table and have dinner with Shally to prove her a gold digger as promised to his friends. As agreed before, Gerard was the one who ordered the food; Shally looked so nervous: "

× Relax, everything will be fine, just enjoy your food and smile from a time to another to be convincing in the photos.

× You could have brought an actress and it'll be solved.

× I prefer a real person to make it look real.

× Thinking about all this, I thought rich people care about who stands next to them especially women, like she needs to be from his level and looks good next to him but you didn't count this one, is it okay?

× You're not that bad."

In reality he was thinking that she looks amazing he just didn't want to admit it being afraid she'll think he's flirting with her and she won't let go of him and to change the subject he said: "

× Where did you learn to speak Spanish?

× My mom is Spanish.

× Oh really? That's nice. You are full of surprises, I didn't expect that.

× Can I ask what are all the surprises that you didn't expect?

× I'd rather keep them for myself. So? You think I'm handsome?!

× (Coughing)You understand...Spanish?!

× Of course I do, I get in a job with many different people from around the world so I prefer learning their language to guarantee having the clients, it makes them feel more confident what makes you have more possibilities to have the deal than when you use a translator, and it makes the contact easier.

× You look like you're good in what you do, you're a good negotiator.

× Seeing you negotiating with me this morning and convincing me about a lot of things made me doubt in that actually. You still didn't answer me.

× Answer what?

× Do you really think I'm handsome? I know I'm handsome anyway but do you think so?

× Yes you are and the food is delicious too. There are 30mn left to 21h.

× We'll get up in few more minutes.

× Okay then! So? What are all the languages you speak?

× Spanish, Italian, Russian and Chinese.

× (Surprised) Do you really speak Chinese?

× (Smiles) No, not really, I just said that to make them look many.

× I almost got impressed, after all, Chinese isn't easy.

× (Smiling) Too bad. I'll be back in a minute, if you want to use the washroom it's just there.

× No, I'm fine, thank you."

Gerard got up to the washroom, it's the step he takes every time he takes a woman to dinner, he leaves her on the table and disappears then the woman finds herself obliged to pay the bill either she can or not but this time Gerard came back, he had to continue the game to the end so he can convince his mother, so they left the restaurant and drove Shally home, all this has been captured by the photographer Gerard called. Once they got to Shally's house, Gerard turned to leave but Shally asked him to wait for 5mn, she got to the house and came out after 5mn carrying the dress she wore and the jewellery, Gerard didn't understand what she was doing then Shally explained: "

× These are the dress and jewellery you bought me for tonight.

× I can clearly see that, and?

× I'm surely not going to keep them."She said with pride.

× "I'm definitely not going to take them back, what am I going to do with?

× Do whatever you want with but I'm not keeping them, I don't want you to say I took advantage of you to have a beautiful expensive dress and jewellery, no chance."

Shally put them in his car while he was standing surprised, he didn't expect her to give them back then Shally looked at him: "

× I guess we're at the end now. Oh! I forgot to tell you, when you were in the washroom Henry called me, I'll go see him tomorrow.

× Nice, this means I was at my word. Okay then, good luck in your new life.

× Thanks, good luck with your mother."

Gerard got in his car and left when Shally got home to prepare herself for the new job and new life. While Gerard was on his way home, he was so happy to have accomplished the mission, he was imagining Andrew and Gwen's faces when he tells them that he won the deal.
