Desserts

Once everyone had their fill, Noctis put away all the boxes and put them in his inventory. Kiara then told Kia about her afternoon lessons, but Irene stopped it.

"Kia will be our guide for today, is that fine with you?" Irene asked.

"But Kia has her lessons in the afternoon." Kiara replied.

"Its only for a day, leaving for a day or two won't affect her studies very much, isn't it?" Irene said.

"But-" Kiara was cut off when Ophelia spoke.

"Its fine, take Kia with you. Kiara, a child should always have fun and enjoy their time as a child. They won't be able to experience them anymore once they grow old. Its fine if you let Kia study early, but always put it in moderation." Ophelia said as Kiara reluctantly agreed to let Kia go out and play which made her happy.

"Just don't let my granddaughter be in danger. If something happened to her, even if you're the king of this world, I will come after you, you got me?" Ophelia said as they nodded and ran away from the dining room. Irene chased after them and Noctis walked by himself. But when Noctis is on the door, he turned around with a smile on his face.

"Not even a hundred of you could defeat me, even if you are in your peak, you wouldn't be able to touch me at all." Noctis said and turned around leaving a shaking Ophelia and Kiara behind.

The few moments that Noctis spoke to them, they felt a pressure they have never felt before. The pressure released by Noctis when they first met, is incomparable to the pressure he is releasing right now. Ophelia also saw a scene he would never forget in her whole life.

She saw, a demon, a demon's face that is crying. She just couldn't believe what just she just saw and what just happened. But she had to swallow the truth because she had seen it with her own eyes.

"A confident and monstrous young man. Looks like I don't have to worry about my granddaughter's safety." Ophelia chuckled to stop herself from trembling.

When Noctis caught up with Irene and the children, Irene looked at him weirdly.

"*Sigh* Did you really have to do that?" Irene asked as Noctis played innocent.

"Do what?" Noctis said making Irene sigh.

"Ugh... really now, Noct?" Irene said.

"Fine, won't happen again, milady." Noctis said as he pulled Irene by his side.

"By the way, Andrew invited us to stay here in their household. But I don't think we should. What do you think?" Noctis asked Irene as she mulled the choices. Noctis gave her the time she needs as he watched over the kids while hugging his wife from the side.

"I don't think we should as well. People would definitely think we are associated with the Green Family if we stayed here. If we only visited then we will be treated as guests." Irene said and they agreed to go home back in the forest where Mama Hawk is sleeping.

"I don't like to be a piece in a board where somebody I don't trust is the one playing." Noctis said and Irene nodded her head.

Glasgow is always at war between each family but they will stay united when it comes to outside invaders. A weird culture in Noctis' eye but if it works, it works.

While the two are talking, Kagura approached her father and spoke.

"Papa, could you give us some sweets? Like ice cream and cake slice?" Kagura asked and Noctis was dumbfounded.

"What did you just say?" Noctis asked.

"I said, Papa can you give us something sweet? We promised to give Kia some sweets. We told her that Papa makes the most delicious sweets. Right, Mama?" Kagura said and Irene nodded.

Noctis' heart shook from Kagura calling him Papa. Although he never taught them that yet, they were able to learn it already which surprised Noctis.

"Who, taught you Papa and Mama?" Noctis asked.

"Uhm... Kia told us that they use Papa and Mama here. Its so short as well, so we used it too." Kagura said with a wide smile.

Noctis immediately summoned five containers of ice cream with spoons and gave the four to Kagura for her to share with her sisters and friend. He also found an open spot in Ophelia's garden and placed a bunch of blankets so that they could sit down without the grasses irritating their bottoms.

He then opened the last container and gave a spoon to Irene who immediately took part in eating. He would feed Irene sometimes and Irene would return the favor making a harmonious atmosphere around them. If a modern SINGLE person were to see them, they would immediately vomit. (Ha! Take that single people! Fire in the hoooooole!)

Kia's eyes were sparkling when she opened the container. Even more so when she tasted the ice cream. She then started eating faster and got warned by Erza that it will hurt her head but Kia didn't listen and continued chowing down on the ice cream container really fast. A few seconds later, she felt a jolt in her head and felt the headaches as she massaged her head while squeaking in pain. Irene immediately used a rune to alleviate Kia's brainfreeze.

"I told you, it would hurt you." Erza said.

"Hehe... now, I know..." Kia said which made them chuckle. Noctis then took out a plain box and inside it is a strawberry shortcake.

When Noctis summoned the box, he could feel the person beside him getting jittery.

"Do you want some?" Noctis asked Irene who nodded as she wiped her wet lips.

"Give me a kiss, first." Irene did what he wanted but when her lips was about to touch his cheeks, Noctis turned sideways and caught her lips.

Irene was caught in surprise and immediately pinched Noctis' supporting hand but Noctis didn't let go for about 10 seconds.

When he separated from Irene, she immediately looked around if the kids have seen them and gave a relieved sigh after seeing that they are focused on eating on their ice creams.

Irene then glared at Noctis but Noctis activated a trap card. He opened the box containing the Strawberry Shortcake, earning Irene's attention.

"We. Will. Talk. Later." Irene said as he pointed her index finger to Noctis which he bit, startling Irene. Irene pulled her finger back and glared intensely at Noctis as her cheeks puffed up unconsciously causing Noctis to laugh and be mesmerized seeing Irene puffing her cheeks. He immediately pinched Irene's cheeks while summoning some plates and another set of utensils.

"You really look cute, my dear Irene." Noctis said with a smile of appreciation which caught Irene by surprise causing her to be mesmerized and redden in embarrassment.

Noctis saw Irene got red in embarrassment but he didn't tease her anymore, instead he pulled Irene in front of him and hugged her from the back as he rested his chin on Irene's shoulder. He then started cutting the cake and put them into plates. He then called out the children to get their share.

When the children turned around, they saw their mother and father being intimate and joined them and hugged them leaving behind a jealous Kia.

"Okay girls, separate, or do you want me to eat your shares?" Noctis threatened as the chiomunks immediately squeaked and took their plates as well as Kia's share and gave it to her.

"Why don't you try dabbing some of your ice cream and strawberry shortcake together?" Noctis gave a suggestion but Erza stood up.

"No, Papa! Strawberry shortcake is good as it is! It is disrespectful to the strawberry shortcake if you did that." Erza said imitating Pitou when she said about disrespecting taiyaki.

Irene also nodded her head supporting Erza's claim.

'They really love strawberry shortcake huh.' Noctis thought as he chuckled.

"Okay, okay. Do what you want." Noctis said as he raised one of his hand up in submission and Erza sat back down and focused on eating her strawberry shortcake making Irene chuckle.

"Why are you laughing, you are the same when eating alone, you know?" Noctis got back to teasing Irene.

"Hmph." Irene just ignored Noctis as she ate ate her comfort food and would be fed by Noctis sometimes.

The group continued eating their food as the breeze accompanied them, adding a comfortable feel as they got engrossed in the allure of sweet things.
