Sinopse

Getting killed by your yandere girlfriend? Not great. Getting told you can reincarnate? Pretty good! Having to select your powers with a roulette? With downsides? Back to not great. But when that's what you're told by an existence that is so far above you you're not even an ant to them all you can do is smile, pull that lever and hope for the best. And so, that is exactly what I did. At least the world I got was Cyberpunk, and not something stupid dangerous like Marvel or DC...

Chapter 1Chapter 1: What do you mean there is no survey?!

With a groan, I slowly opened my eyes only to quickly close them as a bit of pain flashed through my head. Bringing up my hand I slowly started to massage the bridge of my nose as I thought, 'What happened?'

Suddenly a voice that sounded inhumanly perfect and like a choir of the most beautiful beings in all of existence let out a soft giggle before saying, "You were murdered~."

Slowly blinking my eyes as I opened them I asked, "I was… murdered?"

The otherworldly voice giggled again before answering, "Yes! You knew your girlfriend was a legit yandere, and yet you still went ahead. I thought you humans had a saying about sticking your dicks in crazy~? Even if you lack said equipment~~"

With a soft chuckle I said, "Well, she was crazy sexy too."

As I sat up, I looked around myself only to be disappointed. I was in a vast nothingness! Nothing was around me at all, and as I looked down I was quick to notice I didn't even have a body. Tilting my head in confusion I asked, "Why am I so calm? And where are we?"

The voice let out a soft hum for a few seconds before answering, "We're in the void between your nexus world, and everything else~. As for your calm disposition, well that is my doing. Having you as a raving lunatic at the memory of your death, and the situation you currently find yourself in was annoying~."

Letting out my own soft hum I gently nodded my head and said, "Thanks I guess. So, to whom am I speaking too?"

I stood up, or rather what passed as standing up in this place I guess, as the voice answered, "You may call me Lady Lilith~. Now that you're all calm and good to go, let's get onto the fun stuff!"

Tilting my head I asked, "Fun stuff?"

A soft chuckle that unnerved me a bit echoed out as Lady Lilith exclaimed, "Reincarnation! I snatched your soul because of the hilarious way you died~. Really, getting stabbed over a hundred times and yet only dying to the hundred and first stab because it was to your forehead was great fun to watch~. Your girlfriend is/was a real keeper by the way~!"

With a slight frown I asked, "How so? She killed me."

With a little bit too much glee in her voice she answered, "She kept your body preserved like a stuffed animal! They didn't find your "corpse" till nearly 3 years later~. And that was only because of a fire. She was very much 'Down Bad' for you~."

I shuddered at the thought of someone using my corpse in any way other than to bury for a funeral. Shaking the vastly disturbing thought out of my mind I asked, "You said something about reincarnation?"

With an excited hum Lady Lilith said, "Yes~! Now, normally I have sent out surveys for some Fate-Weavers to fill out before I send them off on their new life. But lately, several have complained that surveys are so 'last gen' and want something else~. So, instead you get the gacha roulettes!"

I felt myself physically grimace at the mention of gacha. After hesitating for a few moments I reluctantly asked, "Is there any way I can take that survey? My luck is… well, not the best. Naturally."

Another chuckle echoed out as she casually crushed my hopes, "Nope~! Now, for the first roulette! Let's see… hmmm… how about we'll start with what world you'll be going to?"

With the sound of her fingers snapping echoing out around me, a giant roulette suddenly appeared several metres away from me. As I cranked my neck to look at the absolutely massive thing I couldn't help but speak out, "Holy shit. That thing is HUGE. How many worlds are on there?"

I felt a gentle force nudge me closer to the wheel as she answered, "All of them. Now spin~!"

With a sigh, I walked (floated?) over to the comically small lever attached to the side of the roulette and pulled down on it. I stepped back as I watched the massive, truly titanic wheel start to spin at illogical speeds while thinking, 'Stupid Fate-Weaver things ruining it for me. My luck is total shit! Damn it… I want to complain, but only a fucking fool speaks up against something that is clearly a Goddess of sorts…'

Her soft chuckles echoed out for several seconds before she said, "Smart~. While your survival instincts might be rather suspect when it comes to lovers, at least they are working right when dealing with situations like this~."

With a nervous chuckle I said, "Thanks… forgot you could clearly read my mind…"

She simply hummed in response as I returned my focus back to the wheel that was finally starting to slow down. Now that it wasn't going at lunatic speed, which I honestly thought it achieved because I could have sworn it turned plaid for several moments, I could actually see what was written on some of the boxes. Classic things like Marvel, Marvel comics and such went by. While unconventional things like "Classic fantasy world A" or "That one world that really needs to die" were also seen…

Clearly sensing my unasked question Lady Lilith said, "Don't ask. Some worlds do need to die~. But Fate-Weavers keep bringing them back. It's annoying~."

I simply nodded my head and agreed. Who was I to give my opinion on such matters after all?

Suddenly a loud clicking sound echoed out drawing my attention back to the wheel. It seems my new world has been chosen, and I was pensive about it.

A soft clap echoed out for a few moments before Lady Lilith said, "Oh, how nice~. The Cyberpunk 2077 universe. Depending on the abilities and powers you get, you could have a great time, or a horrible time~!"

My ears perked up along with my eyes lighting up a bit at the notion that I would be getting powers. Feeling a lot better now that I wouldn't be shoved into the world with nothing I asked, "What kind of powers? And how many?"

With the snap of her fingers all the worlds on wheel were replaced with abilities and powers. I was starting to get excited from some of the powers I could read already! With things like "Absolute Combat" or "Alucard's Abilities," how could I not get pumped?

I was broken from my power tripping fantasy by another finger snap, and another wheel materialised. However, from what I was reading on this second wheel had me confused. Things like "Blind" or "Unable to world hop" were listed. With a confused head tilt I asked, "And those are?"

Lady Lilith hummed softly as she answered me, "These are the answers to your previous questions~. Every power ever possible is on that wheel. And you can spin the wheel as often as you want~!"

With a nod of my head, she continued as my eyes landed back on the second wheel, "But for every spin of the power wheel, you need to spin the 'Negative' wheel. After all, free power with no downsides is boring~."

With a wry smile I said, "I see. So this is the real gacha part. How much am I willing to risk for powers, hmm…"

Even though she didn't answer I somehow knew she nodded at my statement. Looking back at the power wheel, I sighed. As I walked up to it I said, "I might as well roll it at least once. Going to Cyberpunk with NOTHING is a death sentence for someone like me…"

With anticipation in my heart, I grabbed the lever and pulled down. As the wheel started to spin I moved back so I had a better view of the whole thing. While we were waiting for the wheel to stop spinning I couldn't help myself as I asked, "If I may… What happened to my girlfriend?"

Somehow sensing she gave a dismissive wave, Lady Lilith said, "You may~. Well, after they found your "corpse" because of the fire and jailed her, she really lost her mind. Or rather, lost her mind when an officer taunted her saying they were going never let her near it again and that she would be jailed for life. She took exception to that, naturally~. Bashed her head so hard and so fast against the cell wall that she was dead before the guard even finished fumbling with his keys to open her cell to stop her~."

Nervously glancing into the void around me I asked, "You're not going to bring her back as well are you…?"

Sensing that she shrugged her shoulders she said, "NoPe~. But it IS on the negative wheel~."

I could only sigh at my luck, because of course something like that would be on the negative wheel. A sudden large clicking sound brought my mood up though, as my eyes snapped to the power wheel to see the results.

In shiny golden letters the words "LOTR's Elf Assassin with (Shadow of War) Bright Lord's Ring of Power."

Soon as I finished reading the power, the words shattered into particles and rushed at me. As they entered my very being, I felt myself changing. My very existence was changing! As I was relishing the feeling of power that was welling up in my soul, Lady Lilith asked, "Do you want to stay female?"

I nodded my head, and not even a second later I fell down to the "floor" screaming in pain. I was barely able to hear Lady Lilith's calm voice through my pain and screams, "My bad, I should have warned you~. What you felt before was merely your new powers. Having your soul be remade will naturally hurt very much. Have no fear though, I won't let you go insane~."

I couldn't respond naturally while I continued to scream in pain. I have no idea how long this went on, but sometimes I honestly wished Lady Lilith would let my mind break just so it would stop in some form. But true to her word, she kept me lucid and sane through the entire ordeal.

When it was finally done, and even though I was reduced to a whimpering pile of meat, I was still very much aware of everything and had all of my faculties. With a question that honestly sounded more like a general whimper than an actual voiced thought I asked, "Is it… finally… over…?"

With a soft hum Lady Lilith answered, "It is~. And amidst your positively delightful wailing and transformation I spun the negative wheel for you. It's already been applied as well~."

As I was on my back, it thankfully didn't take much effort to lean my head back a bit to see what it landed on. Only a few words that were glowing a menacing red hovered above the wheel: Digital Soul/Existence.

Easily sensing my confusion, Lady Lilith thankfully answered my unasked question, "It's simple really~. You do not exist on the physical plane, but the digital. While every reality has a Digital plan, not all of them have access to it. Lucky you however, Cyberpunk very much does~."

Relaxing my posture and just staring up at the nothingness I asked, "Do you have a mirror I may use, Lady Lilith?"

With a snap of her fingers, a large mirror appeared floating above me. What I saw however, confused me. Laying down on the ground was not what I expected in the least. Instead of seeing a normal beautiful elf, all I saw was a transparent and softly glowing pink body. I could still see some details, but it was like I was a ghost.

Raising my left hand to my mouth, I softly touched it. It felt normal at least, and I didn't phase through my own body. Honestly, I kind of looked like a semi-detailed pink light construct of a female elf. And the only thing I was wearing was a simple dress that had straps over my shoulders while having my arms completely exposed. A classic, simple summer dress really.

It was then I noticed the ring on my left index finger. Raising it up so I could closely examine it, it was a beautiful yet simple ring. It was also solid, unlike my body, and gleamed a perfect sheen of silver. Looking closer, there was a small fox engraved into the ring with several tails that were somehow moving! And, next to the fox were words written in Quenya Elvish, "In NULL I trust".

Taking note that I somehow knew several brand new languages, I still raised my brow as I asked, "What is the meaning of the saying on my ring, Lady Lilith?"

She let out a playful giggle before saying, "A tiny little puzzle for you to solve one day~. Now, do you want to spin again?"

Accepting her answer, and dropping the matter for now I cast my gaze at the two wheels with some apprehension. While the pain was unlike anything I have ever, or most likely will ever, felt before it was done. And because of Lady Lilith, I didn't lose my marbles which got me thinking, 'Honestly, if the only thing that happens when getting new powers is pain, that's not too bad. Well it is, but Lady Lilith prevents the worst of it in any case. And the downside I got this time wasn't anything truly horrible…'

Bringing up my hand to look at my ring, I gave it a soft caress before suddenly running to the wheel and pulling down the lever.

As I stepped back, Lady Lilith said, "How brave~! Let's see what you get this time~~"

It wasn't long before it came to a stop, and my excitement was reignited in full force! In shining golden letters the words "Unlimited Growth System (Non-Sentient)" were floating in all their glory.

Lady Lilith was quick to douse my rampant excitement however when she said, "And now for the negative wheel~."

With a sigh and a sad nod of my head, I went over to the other wheel and pulled the lever with trepidation in my heart. As I stepped back to get a better view, much to my surprise, the wheel had already stopped spinning. In a harsh red glow the words "Classic growth system replaced with Unconventional growth system" hovered in the air.

Tilting my head in confusion I asked, "What?"

With a soft hum Lady Lilith said, "You'll see~. Again, or are you done~?"

With a shake of my head I said, "No, I better stop here. I am already straining my luck as it is."

With a single clap of her hands, the titanic roulette wheels vanished and then she asked, "Okay~. Your new system will install itself directly into your soul. Not like the other systems out there that are hanger-on's~. But, it's going to hurt! And then when that's done, I'll send you on your way~."

As I nodded my head, I quickly laid my ass down as I fully expected the pain to floor me again anyway. As the pain started to build I had but one thought before it consumed me, 'Damn it, I hate it when I am right about shit like this…'

As I started to lose consciousness and felt a pull on my body I heard one last thing from Lady Lilith before it all went dark, "I wonder if she'll join up-"

The Synthesis Wizard

In a world where elements lay barren and powerful wizards had abandoned their homeland a millennium ago to explore the multiverse, Sunan found himself reincarnated as a noble scion stripped of his title. This world, once brimming with magic and wonder, had fallen into a desolate state, and wizards had become mere legends. Sunan was acutely aware that after a thousand years, the elements would awaken once more, heralding the return of the wizards and ushering in a new era of prosperity. He understood that his path was clear: he must train diligently to become a wizard himself and survive until this glorious age arrived. “Resources are scarce?” he mused, determination flickering in his eyes. “Then I’ll just have to synthesize them myself.” With that thought, he activated the Synthesis Cube, a device that granted him the ability to combine materials into something new. This Cube was not just a tool; it was a symbol of his potential in this world, reflecting his status as a player in a game he once played. As he set to work, the Cube glowed with possibilities, presenting him with a myriad of options. He had a few basic materials at his disposal, remnants of his previous life and the knowledge he had accumulated from his past experiences in the game. Sunan began experimenting, combining herbs and minerals he had gathered. Each successful synthesis filled him with a sense of accomplishment, inching him closer to his goal of becoming a wizard. Days turned into weeks, and Sunan’s skills improved rapidly. He crafted potions, improved his understanding of magical theories, and honed his mental abilities through intense meditation practices. The Star Ring Meditation, one of the first techniques he mastered, allowed him to tap into the latent mental energy within himself, enhancing his cognitive functions and magical sensitivity. As he progressed, whispers of his endeavors began to circulate among the remaining noble families and the common folk. Some viewed him with suspicion, while others saw potential in the young man who dared to challenge the status quo. Sunan knew he needed allies. He began seeking out individuals who shared his vision—a return to the age of wizards. He discreetly approached the remnants of the nobility, the few who still held some influence, and began to forge connections. His reputation grew cautiously, and with it, the opportunities to gather resources and knowledge. He learned of hidden libraries, ancient texts, and artifacts that could aid in his quest. One fateful day, while exploring a forgotten ruin, he uncovered an ancient tome detailing the rituals of the wizards who had once thrived on this land. The pages contained knowledge that could accelerate his growth, including spells long lost to time. “This is it,” Sunan thought as he carefully transcribed the contents into his own notes. “With this, I can not only learn the spells but also improve my synthesis techniques.” As he delved deeper into the arcane arts, he realized that the key to his ascension lay not just in personal power but in understanding the intricate web of alliances and rivalries that defined noble society. He had to navigate these treacherous waters carefully. In the back of his mind, Sunan always remembered the impending return of the wizards. The time was coming when he would have to reveal his true potential and lead the charge into the new era. With each passing day, he grew stronger, more confident, and increasingly aware of the responsibilities that awaited him. The world was changing, and Sunan was determined to be at the forefront of that change—a wizard in a world that had forgotten what it meant to wield true power.
