Again, she should shut up since she had already said enough. But for some reason, she could not stop. She did not want to stop.
Her inner voice seemed to want to scream the truth no matter the consequence. It kept telling her that she had the power to change the outcome of their current situation if she would only spill her gut.
"What are you talking about, Mom?" Kaely looked at her with curiosity, anxiety, and worry. "What is wrong?"
In her mind, her daughter might have imagined her growing a pair of heads with matching horns. She certainly felt like she was not herself.
But could she go through it? Could she confess all her crimes? Was she brave enough to face the consequences of her actions?
"I can't say it." Her tongue hesitated to say the words. "I know you will hate me." Her heart twisted inside her chest, knowing that was one of the things that was stopping her.
