Lu Chen looked at the jade pendant. Everything that happened in these few seconds was because of it!

"I'll be giving this away. I really don't have any use for it." Lu Chen wasn't a jade fanatic, and he didn't see the value of this pendant except for money.

Hearing his words, Bai Geming and Huang Muyang's expressions brightened.

"I won't be giving it to the two of you." But Lu Chen's following words shut them down.

Lu Chen was calm as he explained, "Elders, the pendant is supposed to be split in half." He raised the two pieces up. And what the two saw was a clean split!

He stuck them back together, making them whole again.

"This is a rare type of pendant that can be split into two and reattached into one." Lu Chen realized it a couple of days ago. There was a clean groove down the center of the pendant. And once he messed around with it, it split in two!

"..." Doesn't that make it worth more?! Bai Geming and Huang Muyang didn't expect that. What they did know was this feature made the pendant's value higher than before!

Lu Chen didn't know what the two thought as he handed one side to Bai Xiaoqing and the other to Huang Mingyue.

The two looked at their pendants.

"I think that's enough, right elders?" Lu Chen asked the two elders.

And the two nodded begrudgingly. The two wanted the pendant. However, Huang Muyang and Bai Geming couldn't do anything about it now that it was in their granddaughter's hands.

"Thank you for your time." Lu Chen didn't stay there long as he walked away from the group. He could tell the two elders' focus was to obtain that pendant!

"My sweet Mingyue, can grandpa see the pendant you got?" Huang Muyang said with the brightest smile ever. But Huang Mingyue quickly turned away and hid the pendant,

"No way, grandfather. You tried to sell me off for a piece of jade?"

"Grandfather, I'm the same as Mingyue." Bai Xiaoqing didn't like it when she heard what Bai Geming said.
