Chapter 18 - Index Story

"I want you to fight seriously with me!" Mikoto said. "You can stop my lightning strikes easily, and it makes me wonder how you can eliminate my attacks. Even though Saten-san said that the power you have is the ability to manipulate fire."

"So Index-san can you tell me, Kotori-san and Shizuka-san why did you appear in front of the hill where Yuragi Sou was standing in a stupor. To the point that you bit my hand until it bled?" Asked Chitose in a curt tone.

"Aaah I'm sorry that I bit your hand," Index replied while lowering her head as a sign that she was sincerely apologizing to Chitose. "I, who was running away from someone, and fell in front of the hill where this inn was standing because I was starving and instinctively I immediately bit your hand that was holding the food because I smelled of the delicious food in your hand. It's a bad habit of mine, which immediately darkens my eyes when I smell good food."

"Index-san don't tell me you're someone who has to eat several times than a normal person to satisfied your hunger?" Asked Shizuka with cold sweat running down her forehead.

"Ah, that's was right!" Index replied with a slightly flushed face as she had to admit that she ate a lot more than the average person. "How did you know?"

"You said you were being chased by someone didn't you?" Asked Kotori. "Who the hell is the one who after you, and what is a nun from outside like you doing in this City?"

"Index Prohibitum Libroratorum is an aspiring nun from Necessarius, who holds one hundred and three thousand Grimoires inside her head," Touma said who appeared suddenly and answered Kotori's question just before Index could answer. "The question for me is, what is someone from the magic side doing in this Academy City?"

Touma already knew the reason why Index could be in Academy City. But he chose to pretend not to know, so that everyone in the living room would not suspect him.

"Everyone in Yuragi Sou knows about the existence of magic," replied Touma. "And when it comes to your identity, I can get fairly complete information about you from an informant who knows a lot about the supernatural world."

"Onii-chan is she one of the few people who entered Academy City illegally two days ago?" Asked Kotori.

"Yeah, based on the information from my informant, but this girl named Index wasn't with the two girls I watched last night," Touma replied. "The girls I watched yesterday, one named Kanzaki Kaori and the other named Himeragi Yukina, it seems the magicians from Necessarius came to this city to catch a scientist from Necessarius who became a traitor in the organization and was hiding in Academy Town with the help of Kihara Gensei. Hearing Gensei's name mentioned you already know what I mean don't you, Kotori?"

Kotori nodded her head, and immediately understood what really happened right after she heard Touma's words.

When Shizuka asked why Index had to run away from her pursuers she only replied that she couldn't involve other people in her troubles. Unless the person intends to experience a hellish situation with her. Shizuka didn't understand the meaning of Index's words and could only take it as a sign that Index didn't want Shizuka as the one who gave Index the food to be involved in the trouble Index was currently experiencing.

Affter Index excused herself to go and thanked Chitose and Shizuka for being fed.

But since it was night and Shizuka and Chitose knew that Index was having trouble, the two of them forced Index to stay and stay at Yuragi Sou.

Touma who knew that Index would be seriously injured by Kaori, if she left Yuragi Sou. Agreeing with Shizuka and Chitose's decision, because even if he doesn't like Index's existence it will only bring him trouble. He didn't have the heart to let Index be slashed by a rather stupid Saint.

Touma decided tomorrow right after school he would look for Kaori and Stiyl. And teach them both a little lesson....
