Chapter 2

I woke up the following day around 7:00 am, I stood and stretched. I rummaged through my clothes for something presentable to wear; I ended up just picking out a white long-sleeve shirt and a knee-length black pencil skirt with some black flats.

I walked into the bathroom and turned the shower on; I got undressed and got into the shower. I washed up quickly, I still had to get dressed, do my hair and makeup, stop at the store to get myself something to eat, then drive 30 minutes.

Once I was done washing up, I got out and dried off, I got dressed and then put on some deodorant and perfume. I put my hair into a high ponytail and then applied some eyeshadow and lipgloss; I checked the time and saw it was 7:25 am.

"Great, I don't even have enough time to stop at the store for breakfast." I sighed.

I left the bathroom and grabbed my purse; I made sure I had everything before I left my house. I got into my car and drove off.

Thirty minutes later I arrived at his office building; I parked my car then grabbed my things, and rushed into the building. There were a couple of other people in the building sitting at their desks, getting work done.

I walked to his door and knocked. "Come in." I heard his voice, I opened his door and stepped inside.

"Good morning Ms. Smith." He smiled.

"Good morning Mr. Marshall."

"Glad to see you're on time; I'll show you around." He stood.

I followed behind him. "So this is your desk, your computer, everything you need." It was a pretty ample space for me.

"Oh, okay, it's nice."

"Of course, now this is the break room where the coffee and snacks are located."

"Okay, cool."

"And the last thing, would you like to check out the wine chamber room?" He smiled.

"Of course, I would!"

"Okay." I followed behind him through these doors; we went downstairs into the basement, where hundreds of bottles were lined on golden racks and big barrels in the room's corners.

"Oh wow, this place is amazing."

"I know." He laughed.

"So, do you make your own wine too?"

"Yeah, I've made a few."

"Okay, cool."

"Well, that's just about it; let's go back upstairs." I followed him up the stairs. "So, do you have any questions?"

"No."

"Okay, good, Just one more thing I need you to do for me. I need you to set up a couple of appointments with the Treasury wine estates and The wine group." He walked back into his office.

"Okay, I should get a pen and notebook for this."

"Here, take mine." He held it out for me.

I grabbed the notebook and pen. "I'm ready."

"Set an appointment for me with Treasury wine estates for January 10th, 2:00 pm, and The wine group for January 15th, 9:30 am; this is all their information." He handed me the paper.

I wrote down the details. "Okay, I got it."

"And while you're at it, do you mind grabbing me a coffee?"

"Of course, How do you like your coffee?"

"Three sugars and some cream."

"Okay, coming right up." I smiled and then left his room. I set the pen and notebook on my desk, then walked into the break room and made his coffee. I walked back to his room. "Here you go."

"Thank you so much."

"Of course. Is there anything else you need, Boss?"

"You can just call me Vincent."

"Are you sure? would that be appropriate?" I smiled.

"Yes." He chuckled.

"Well, then you can call me Aurora and not Ms. Smith All the time." I laughed.

"Okay, and no, I don't need anything else. Just close the door behind you."

"Okay." I left his office, and closed the door behind me. I walked over to my seat and sat down. I immediately started setting the appointments for him.

****************************

It was my lunch break, and everyone was gathered in the break room. I decided to sit at my desk because I didn't have time to stop and buy lunch. Vincent walked out of his room. He stopped when he saw me sitting all alone.

"Why aren't you in the break room with everyone else?"

"Well, I was running late earlier, so I didn't have time to stop and get myself anything to eat."

"That sucks. I'm about to grab some lunch if you wanna come with me."

"Oh, sure." I stood and grabbed my stuff.

I followed him out of the building. "There's a pretty good restaurant about three blocks from here." He said.

"Are you talking about Tacos Los Palomos?"

"Yes, how'd you know?"

"I go there whenever I have the time, that place is amazing, and the food is so good!"

"Right? I go there all the time for my lunch break." He replied.

"So what's your favorite, the tacos, burritos, or quesadillas?"

"The birria tacos, for sure."

"Mine too!"

We got to the restaurant and walked inside. We found a table and sat down.

"So, how are you liking this job so far?"

"I love it. It's something new for me since I've never been an assistant before, but it's an amazing opportunity. Thank you again for hiring me."

"Of course, There were plenty of other options I could have chosen, but I chose you because I saw some potential in you."

I smiled. "I'm glad you chose me."

He returned a smile. "Of course."
