Chapter 12: Darn Octoroks

My search for courser honey didn't take long, I found it within ten minutes of me stripping the Bokoblin's corpse. I had heard a loud buzzing noise coming from within the forest, I walked over towards it and found the beehive, I thought to myself, 'first things first, get rid of the bees', and that is exactly what I did. I asked the flame to chase away the bees, so that I could harvest the honey and the flame did exactly that. I walked through the forest for the last three honey and/or a broken guardian, the search lasted until I found yet another beehive.

I chased off the bees, harvested the honey, "Two left." I said to myself before continuing to walk aimlessly around the forest, trying to hear the sweet buzzing noise of bees. I walked past a few trees, but I heard a whooshing noise, I looked around, noticing a big rock getting flung towards me, I quickly rolled out of the way. I think to myself, 'Damn it, not now… an Octorok, god damn it'. Before I looked in the direction that the rock came from, before hiding behind a tree. A hear another whoosh so I looked peeped from around the tree, I spot the Octorok jumping out of the ground, I pull out five arrows and gather my emotions and shoot the arrows directly towards the Octorok . The first two arrows missed, the Octorok was about to land again, but it was hit by the last three arrows.

I walked over towards the dead Octorok and prodded it with one of my arrows, I proceeded to skin the Octorok and took one of its eyes, as the other one was burst by one of my arrows. I collect a tentacle, and attempt to locate the Octorok balloon, as I didn't think I'd come across one so fast after leaving the town. I completely forgot about forest Octoroks, damn those forest Octoroks, after tearing the Octorok apart, I walked through the forest looking for the second last beehive.

I came across another Bokoblin while I was looking around for the last beehive, it didn't notice me, and so while it wasn't paying attention, I grabbed a few arrows and my sword. I set the arrows to surround him, and while it was distracted I plunged my sword through the back of his throat, I felt his neck offer resistance. While he was still dying I activated my extraction rune, and my arrows felt to the ground. The deed was done, and an essence orb was lying on the ground next to its corpse.

I recollected myself with the lantern and I picked up my arrows. I harvested all the good stuff from the Bokoblin, and I went on my way. After walking around for a while I recalled that I still needed wood as well. I looked back down at the list I had recollected from my inventory: 10 chunks of flint, 10 amber, 15 chunks of luminous stone, 1 diamond, 4 courser bee honey (3 collected), 10 sunshrooms, 5 ancient screws, 2 ancient gears, 3 ancient springs, and 10 piles of wood.

I pick out an wood cutters axe from the inventory, I thought of another technique that I can use, what if I was to use magnesis on the axe while I'm using it. I try out the technique, it certainly isn't very effective without practice, and it gives barely any boost. At least I know why Link doesn't do that with his own weapons, beside the impracticality of wielding a sword and the Sheikah slate at the same time. I cut down 10 trees that day, two of which almost crushed me. I also found the last courser bee honey while cutting down trees.

I started my walk towards the Blatchery Plain, because it's been mentioned in several history books that I have read, and how the history books had mentioned that it was a location filled with broken guardians. The thought of all those pieces of guardians ripe for the taking got me giddy. That would be much different from the several dangerous scenarios I would get into if I wanted to get guardian pieces normally. And fighting a guardian just sounds like a stupid idea, they shoot laser beams, beams that could cut through me like butter, I am not fighting one of those anytime soon.

After the long day of me having two near death experiences, one via big rock almost hitting my head, instantly killing me, and the other, through fighting a Bokoblin, I decided to take an early rest. I pulled out a camping swag and prepared to fall asleep, I took out my blue flame, and set up a campfire, the blue flame played around in the campfire and I closed my eyes and let my tiredness take over. I felt the world turn to black, but it felt warm and welcoming.

Oh, how I hate octoroks, mainly the ones that shoot stuff at you while your just trying to get to that one shrine.

Any case, I hope you have a great day. Enjoy.
