Calvin started looting all the corpses so they could get the most loot that they can with his high luck.

Besides the usual coins and materials, 2 equipment dropped which are shoulder guards made of leather and a wooden club.

The shoulder guards went to Calvin with no hesitation as he needs it. It gave 3 defence, 1 each in strength, vitality and endurance. As for the wooden club, they decided to sell it in the village later.

After looting, they sat down and rest to recover their health and mana back to full before continuing on exploring the dungeon.

The cave didn't only had one path forward. There were times where they would end up in at an intersection leading to two or more tunnels.

Most of the tunnels were dead ends while some leads to a party of goblins.

The two explored every single tunnel and cleared all the goblins they met on the way. Both Calvin and Madelyne were the type of people to not leave even a single thing uncompleted when they are doing things so together they decided to completely clear the entire dungeon.

This caused them to take more time but the two didn't really mind since they have the company of each other making them not feel bored at all. They even got a lucky surprise and found a wooden chest at the end of one tunnel which contains mostly coins and one equipment which is a short sword.

Calvin didn't like the short sword and since Madelyne wanted it, he happily gave it to her. He watched her take it and hang it on her waist as a secondary weapon besides her dagger. The happy smile on her face made him involuntarily smile as well.

With their strength and experience, they easily cleared three more goblin party that were made up of 10 to 13 goblins. The party with the 13 goblins took them longer to clear but they didn't really feel threatened.

They managed to upgrade some of their equipment from the loot that dropped from those 3 goblin parties, raising their stats slightly. For Calvin it was his leg guards and a new hat. Just like earlier, Madelyne took his old leg guards without any complaint.

Right now, the two were standing in an intersection once more where it leads to 4 different paths. One path is behind them where they just came from while the other three are going to the left, right, and forward.

Looking at the center tunnel that is bigger than the rest they have seen up till now, Madelyne looked at Calvin and said. "This is probably the way towards the boss. Let's go clear the two on the sides first, maybe there's some goblin there. We just need to kill a few more before you can level up."

"Yeah let's go with what you said mom." Calvin totally agreed because it would be good for them if he can get stronger so they would have an easier time in clearing the rest of the dungeon.

They proceeded to explore the two tunnels on the side. The right one led them to 12 goblins which they easily took out, causing Calvin to finally level up to 6 while Madelyne had already leveled up to 5 earlier.

He put 1 attribute point each to agility, strength and vitality and 2 in intelligence. For the loot, they only got 1 equipment which is a dagger. It has slightly better stats than Calvin's dagger so he equipped it while his old one goes to Madelyne.

After exploring the right tunnel, they then checked out the left that turned out to be a dead end so they returned to the intersection.

They then took the middle tunnel and walked deeper into the tunnel till they saw a big clearing compared to earlier. Just like last time, Calvin peeked inside and saw a goblin party that is stronger compared to the others they met. There are a total of 13 goblins and one of them stood above the rest, literally.

It was a whole head taller than normal goblins and what it wore is completely different as well. Instead of a ragged cloth on its waist, it wore full leather armor and wields an iron long sword in its two hand.

Calvin frowned as he stepped back and relayed what he saw to Madelyne.

"How about let's clear the small goblins first before the big one? With that armor, I doubt that you can instantly kill it." Madelyne frowned as she explained her thoughts.

She suddenly realised what she said at the end and looking at Calvin's furrowed brows, she hastily said. "Ohh I'm not insulting you or anything Cal. Don't take it in a bad way ok?"

Calvin was startled at her actions before smiling as he held her hand gently. "Ohh its ok mom. In fact, I agree with you because I feel that the dungeon or even the game has been too easy. That's why I expect that starting from now on, this will be the start where things will get really hard."

Madelyne felt relief when she saw Calvin's assuring face and his hands holding her's. "Ohh thank god then. I thought you got mad for a second."

Calvin chuckled. "Hey I'm not that petty you know."

Madelyne smiled then asked curiously. "Then why the face?"

"Ohh I just think that its fucking annoying killing these goblins because we don't have an aoe skill." Calvin said with clear annoyance.

Madelyne's smiled helplessly. "True. I'm actually trying to create one since earlier but I still can't do it."

"Wait really?" Calvin asked surprised.

Madelyne smiled and said. "Hmph of course I am. Don't you dare underestimate my imagination coming from my otaku side. You're not the only otaku in the family Cal. Animes and video games were already a thing in the century before so of course it would be normal for us earlier generations to know about it. I was actually an otaku when I was young but when I had you two I got too busy that's why you never knew that."

Calvin was stunned at first but after thinking it over it did make sense. Madelyne was always wearing earphones whenever she's watching on her phone and since Calvin doesn't really looks at her phone, he didn't knew that she watches anime. Moreover, she didn't really tell them that so they never had a clue.

"Then why did you not have a clue about Genesis even just a little bit if that's the case?" Calvin asked confused.

Madelyne said plainly. "I didn't really have an interest about these types of games at first but now I like it."

"Then what genre of games and animes do you like?"

With a big smile on her face, Madelyne said with pride. "Of course romance for the win!"

Calvin was dumbfounded as he didn't know how to react to that answer. Unconsciously a smile appears on his face when he saw his mom's unique side to her that he didn't knew till now.

Madelyne noticed it as she smiled feeling victorious and happy as she let out a giggle.

Calvin came back to himself and noticed that he was smiling. He quickly coughed and said curiously. "Ahem back to the topic, then should we practice for a bit before fighting those things?"

Noticing his actions made Madelyne smile inwardly. She shook her head before smiling excitedly with a hint of fierceness in her eyes. "Nope. I'm feeling a bit hyped today. Let's go yolo?"

For who knows how many times today, Calvin was surprised again then smiled in the same way. "I'm in."
