Time and progress 4

PINK DIAMOND'S P.O.V

"I'm sure you are going to do fine, my Diamond." Pearl reassured me as we stood in front of the daunting black gates that lead to Black's room.

"Thank you Pearl." I'm still super nervous right now!

I know that this whole thing was my plan and all to celebrate the special occasion was my idea, but why do I feel so nervous? Oh right, because it's Black. Why does she have to be so much like herself?!? Everytime I try to put one over on her she either doesn't react or counterattack, I'm losing my cred with Pearl. *Whining*

Building myself up I knocked on the door and it was, surprisingly, not opened by Black's Pearl but one of her new Gems. What greeted me was a young man of average height with a slender and lean build with a muscular physique. He has pale skin that is a mix of white and a hint of grey and he also has relatively large black eyes and spiky periwinkle hair that becomes more pink at the end that's styled in an undercut fashion. There are black markings under the corners of his eyes and he has a respectful/passive look on his face.

He is currently wearing a black long sleeve shirt with a small grey diamond symbol over his heart (resembling a gakuran) over a white hoodie, black pants, and red shoes. His gem being a smooth square was located at the area where the neck meets the shoulder on his right side. (He looks like Itadori Yugi but with the alterations)

Oh I remember now! This Gem is a product of Black's new Gem Formulas, Schorl. I skimmed through it, and she made a few new Gem formulas I believe. I can't remember their abilities since I wasn't paying attention but I remember how Black described them as long range and assassination/infaltration type units. Explains their dressing given Black's tastes.

The young man did a diamond salute before speaking in a smooth voice. (Imagine the anime voice from Jujutsu Kaisan for Itadori)

"My Diamond, your presence as always brings radiance into whatever room you're in." Black you sly cut Gem, he certainly knows how to use his mouth. I slightly smirk before he continues.

"Please allow me to take you to Black Diamond."

He then turned to his side and stretched his arm deeper into the room to indicate we followed him and we slowly made our way to the Pebble made long chair in the centre of the room. Once we got close enough I saw Black, uncloaked, currently invested in the work on the screen in front of her. She does that from time to time, if I didn't know her better I would be worried she never rests.

A pair of Onyx Gems, one with long wavy hair and the other with short curly hair, are standing in front Black with their arms to their sides and three more Schorls on her left side kneeling with their heads down. The Schorls on the sides had more wild hair in bigger volume than the Schorl escorting me and Pearl. The Schorl in the middle had longer and straighter hair than the others and from what I could see their figure was more feminine.

I looked at the Schorl who escorted me and discovered he had a blush on his face, guess I discovered why all the Gems in the room and their eyes closed. I wonder how Black's Pearl can function in her presence? She always had a grey blushed look on her face whenever I spot her looking at Black, but she still performs excellently.

Speaking of her Pearl, where is she?

Focus Pink! You can ask some other time, for now you have to do business!

Schorl wakes from his stupor a few seconds later and begins announcing our presence with a formal Diamond salute.

"My Diamond, the radiant Pink Diamond has arrived here today."

Black pauses in her work before she adjusts her position and looks at me with a smile, good thing I had told Pearl to keep her head down when I entered the room. Schorl however…

I look at the Gem who's complexion has become completely filled with a greyish blush and internally give a few words to my newly found fallen brethren. Not that my blush was any worse. I think Black mistook my look at the Schorl guard as a plea for privacy as she then began to speak.

"All Gems, leave us for now. Schorl 9 and Onyx 7 go to the training area that Pearl is in and instruct her from there."

She received a unanimous "Yes, my Diamond" from the Gems in the room with the Schorl at my side speaking in a slight stutter as they filed out of the room.

When they finally left Black turned her sincere white eyes on me.

"So Pink, may I know what brought the pleasure of your presence." Wow, maybe I shouldn't have taught her my ways. Her presence was enough, but now she is taking the initiative! I managed a response.

"Ah.. Yeah, so Black I was wondering if you wanted to attend a little ah-event I was throwing together. You know, to celebrate the forming of Yellow, Blue, and me."

"Here I thought that little get together for my forming was for all of us."

"Well you thought wrong!" I pointed a finger gun at her as she raised her arms in surrender. "Me and the rest of the Diamonds wanted to do something special for you. Even White thought that you deserved it for all the work you did over the past year."

"Huh? Thank you again for that, it was nice."

I smirk and I lightly jump and float to Black's arm rest sitting directly on the back of her hand and waved her off.

"Careful now, you might fall deeper in love with me than you already are."

She rests her chin on her other hand as she looks at me with hair in front of her eyes.

"Maybe."

Ignore the heat on your face Pink!

"So what do you say, if you agree then the rest of our sisters have too."

"It's funny you think I didn't know you went to Blue first to get her approval."

"Ehhhh." I continued awkwardly.

She then continued.

"And because of that convincing Yellow was as easy as breaking soil."

I have no words and I look to the window, the blush on my face full of embarrassment.

"Ok you have a deal, just go to Blue in preparation for the event and get Yellow's opinion as well. It's your special day after all and I'll convince White along the way"

"Really?"

Black just nodded her head and I excitedly said my goodbyes before I took Pearl to leave the room. Just as I was about to leave Black stopped me.

"Oh and Pink. Send the guards back in and... I'm going to bring up your idea to White."

Really? I didn't expect this, I just brought it up because I thought it was going to be fun. Yellow just waved the idea off and Blue just treated it as a joke.

"Thanks Black."

"I haven't done it yet, but after I had some time to consider it might be a good program to develop, I was going to bring it up to White at some point. You can thank me later"

"Still...thanks for trying anyways, that is… worth more than anything." I then quickly turned my head away before I could see the look of surprise on Black's face before she gave a genuine smile in my direction.

Today was unexpectedly better than I could have hoped for! I then rushed down the halls and to Yellow's room to discuss the preparations for the ball.

Pearl hurried after me as she gave the instructions to the Gems outside Black's room. By the time she finished I was already a good deal away. Eh, it'll be fine. She knows her way around Homeworld, all Pearls do.

BLACK DIAMOND'S P.O.V

As my current guard comes in I whisper to myself.

"Honestly Pink, this idea of yours might be good in the long run especially since THAT time is coming."
