Contract is a contract

POV

X

"Did you even read the contract?" I ask laughing with my question.

I know the answer to that when she sits up straighter.

"No.." she says.

She makes it so damn easy for me.

"I did this for you, X!" Adria says panicked.

"No, Adria you did this for no one other than you," I say calmly, pressing my fingertips into her small framed shoulders and she flinches from underneath.

I'm about to show her who really is the boss in this house.

"But ya know, I am going to do something for me now, I haven't done anything selfish in a while and I owe it to myself to do this," I say whispering in her ear again.

"Please, X" she begs, she knows me well enough to know what's coming next.

"I wish I could say that this won't bring me any greater joy than what I'm about to do Adria, but it does. It didn't have to be this way, you could've just kept to yourself, did your job like everyone else but it just was never enough for you. I took pity on you when I allowed for you to stay but you know, deep down I knew you'd fuck up. I'm just surprised you fucked up this fast, what it's been like a week? I'm sorry Adria but everything in life has consequences. Because of your sneaky actions, I'm dealing with my consequences of not being with the woman I love. I'm sorry to say but it's now time for your consequences." I whispered into her ear again with eerie calmness, letting the fear in her mind build with every word.

"X…" she says as I allow that to be her last word.

I stand up straight again, closing my inner arm around her throat in a headlock, with every muscle in my body I use as much force as I can to snap her neck. The loud crack will probably forever haunt me, not because I just took Adria's life but because the sound was so gruesome. The weight of her head is resting on my arm, I release my arm from the heavy weight and her face falls straight down onto the kitchen table with force, another crack, her nose probably just broke.

I bend down again to the lifeless body, "a contract is a contract, Adria, you should've read it." I whisper into her ear and then pat her head, "You're so fucking stupid, you should've known better, it clearly stated if you broke the contract not only would you have gotten fired but it would also deem me whatever I consequence I sought necessary and Adria, this was so fucking necessary." I say and collect the photos from the table, putting them back in the envelope before the blood from her nostrils reaches them.

I take a step away to retrieve my phone from the office but look back waving the envelope in the air, "oh yeah, and thanks for these," I say and walk away.

I get my phone from off my desk and call my bodyguard, stone.

After a few rings he picks up, "what's up X?" He asks in his deep voice.

"I have a body I need you to dispose of," I say as if it's no big deal.

"Where?" He asks.

"The penthouse." I simply state.

"How much blood?" He asks.

"Minimal," I say.

"Okay, I'll be right there." He says and we hang up.

Within minutes Stone is knocking at the door. I let him in to do his this. He walks over to the kitchen looking at Adria's lifeless body.

"Is that..?" He asks pointing to Adria.

"Yeah, it's her," I say with no remorse.

"Took you long enough," he says shaking his head.

"Too long," I say

"Do your thing, man, there's something I need to do," I say and he nods his head.

With that, I leave the penthouse to go break up a date.
