In the early morning of the winter, the river and the forest surrounding carried a layer of fog. The river banks were quiet as the bird chirping sound could be heard from the trees nearby.
The area was calm as a group of people were seen sleeping on the wet long grass near the banks. A few people could be seen walking towards the sleeping people quietly.
The body was asleep, but the mind was not.
Drey yawned and tried to open his eyes to see his surroundings, but the bright light hit his eyes, and he closed them immediately.
Drey's sharp ears detected the sound of footsteps nearing them, and his hand flew to his waist as he got hold of his sword.
Hiding his head deep into the grass, his fighting instinct kicks in.
Releasing the grip he had on the sword, his pretense didn't ease, so he could know the motive of his enemies, lifting his head unhurriedly, most people around him were still asleep.
Slowly removing the sword from the sheath, he prepared to attack whoever had come there to attack. Feeling the time was right, he aimed the sword at the approaching men.
Only to hear a loud chuckle from him,
"I must say you are a bit late in protecting yourself, my crowned prince." Jerome mockingly said to know the enraged Drey.
Drey rolled and stood facing Jerome. This man only knew how to play tricks on others.
How can he feign an attack early in the morning on unknown ground?
Drey wanted to run his sword across his neck just to teach him a lesson. But looking at Jerome's playful gaze, he sneered.
Some of the groups who were asleep were now awake and quite surprised, they engaged themselves in packing their small bags and watching from a far distance.
He smirked as walked towards the river to wash his face. He removed his upper cloth and splashed the cold water on his naked shoulders.
His torso and muscles left most of their mouths wide open. They have only heard of how the crowned prince is strong with a well-built body, but this was the first time they were seeing his perfect body.
Even the men were shy to undress beside him. They were ogling and gossiping among themselves, assuming the man who stood greeting his teeth. When Jerome saw this, he removed his upper clothes and proceeded to the river, bypassing Drey, he went in front of him stripped, and gazed back at the people. He was scornful of his looks.
The crowd was dumbstruck, should they choose the devil or the devil's right-hand man?
Seeing the confused look of Jerome who was glaring at the crowd, Drey had a teasing smile on his face as he said,
"Is the attention given to my body annoying you?" Drey asked.
"Huff. You think too much about yourself, Drey. I also wanted to take a quick bath before the women wake up, don't think too greatly." Jerome didn't lift his head as he replied.
"Is that so?!"
"Yeah!" Jerome replied quickly, still annoyed, his tone didn't escape Drey's sharp hearing ability. Drey laughed, playing with the cold water, at Jerome's foolishness.
The surprised group of people couldn't believe what they were seeing, all the books they read back Rosario lied to them. There were no descriptions of the crowned prince's jovial personality.
Could the crowned prince be deceiving others with his changing character? Some write he was mute, other books explain he was not human enough he was always bathing in blood.
As other writers detested him in their writing, he was cruel. Cruel, enough to save them from the shackles of his father.
Who was this crown prince? They weren't very knowledgeable about "Drey Winger Ron Regan" his name was always whispered in Rosario kingdom. Shouting it sends most of them to their deathbeds.
Did the crowned princes pass by, casually?
"You should all be quick, we don't have all the time in the world," Drey's cold voice brought them back to earth, they were embarrassed.
They bowed before proceeding to the river.
The sun had now appeared, and the fog was pushed away. Jerome came after Drey as he whispered,
"Drey, we are lucky! We are in the cursed and abandoned land." Instead of quietly informing him, Jerome shouted. The women on the other side glared at them.
Drey looked around before asking. "How far did you go earlier?"
"As far as our legs could carry us before returning and found our crowned prince comfortably sleeping," Jerome grinned at the end.
Drey assumed the little insults as he suggests,
"You can let them decide which place they would like to settle," Drey was not used to speaking to these people as Jerome was.
Leaving Drey behind, Jerome formed the groups, and the people dispersed. They watch them walk away with a sense of ownership.
"Mm. Such a cool breeze," Jerome moaned, as fresh air brushed past him. "After breathing the air mixed with blood in Rosario, we're here to start fresh!"
"Such a drama, boy," Rico hissed from behind. Jerome gave him a death glare before a smirk settled on his lips.
"I will be accompanying Drey wherever he is heading," Jerome said and looked at Rico.
"You can choose the knights as you ensure the settling of the people," he was about to celebrate when Rico nodded in agreement.
Jerome frowned when he saw Rico agreeing quickly to his suggestion.
Realizing how foolish he was, they were the only ones remaining, Rico had more men to accompany him compared to the two of them.
He looked at Drey, and he gazed back at him with curled lips.
"You don't think I'm stupid, right?" Jerome asked, but Drey's mocking smile told it all. He cursed at this land, "itIt'sruly cursed!"
He regrets this decision now. Furthermore, he would have selected the knights.
"Foolish."
Drey said, walking away from Jerome, who came to his sense when he was left alone at the river banks.
"Drey wait!" Jerome shouted and ran after him. Drey didn't halt on his steps, he strode away, his long legs carrying him quickly.
Jerome continues to curse as he runs behind Drey, "they both are just punishing this innocent soul," he murmured as he caught up with Drey.
"It's just bad luck traveling with you," Drey retorted back at his curses. Find a suitable place to build the castle Jerome hadn't stopped once,
"Don't include me in this cursed land, I'm solely a young man dreaming of a future," Jerome defended his chastity.
Drey couldn't be certain anymore, he remembered chastity and Jerome were not on good terms.
