Jael winced, he could tell Mauve was headed in this direction. His frown deepened at the excitement he felt that she was coming to see him. Her face was definitely better than these crusty letters.
He pinched the bridge of his nose and leaned back against the chair. He could use the distraction. He leaned forward again and glued his eyes to the letter but he didn't even bother to continue reading, he just held it.
He knew exactly when she stopped in front of the door and that was when Erick realized they had company. Her knock echoed in the dark space and Erick tsked at the interruption.
"Go open the door," he said without lifting his head from the letter.
"Yes, Sire," Erick said, he then stomped to the door and pulled it open. "What do you want?"
"Shut up Erick and let her in," Jael ordered.
"I apologize, Sire," Mill said. "I tried to warn her that you were busy but she refused to listen to me."
