Jeremy

Two hours before all that...

Jeremy was sitting at his own desk after the meeting with his sister. He wasn't feeling at ease at the moment while what Anna did in the meeting kept bothering him.

"What's going on in her mind?" Jeremy was moving his body in circles using his black leathered seat. He was recalling what his sister said, especially at the end.

"What does she want from him?" Jeremy stopped his seat before tapping on the desk with his index finger. His mind kept repeating the scenes that just happened non-stop.

The more he recalled what happened, the more uneasy he became.

"I got Chris in my pocket... but James..." he knew James wasn't the type to be fooled with or to be bought or threatened. He held a deep grudge against the noble families, one that couldn't be easily wiped out with anything but blood.

If it was up to Jeremy, he would prefer to kill James and dispose of his threat once and for all. However he couldn't do that to a wolf who had such support in the entire enforcer forces.

"Ding!"

Just as Jeremy was absorbed in his thoughts, his mobile told him he got a message. In a careless way he opened the phone and wasn't any surprised to see the identity of the caller.

"Why all who carried the name 'James' are such a pain in the as*?" he couldn't help but sigh while reading the message he just got.

<James: Have you done it?>

Jeremy threw the mobile on the desk while feeling slightly annoyed. He hated vampires, but he hated the current regime of the pack more.

"The enemy of my enemy is my dog," Jeremy said to himself before he grabbed the phone and sent an answer to that vampire.

<Jeremy: It's done. You can move freely and play as you want for now>

<James: How long is now?>

"You... are such an ungrateful dog, y'know that?" Jeremy wanted to close the phone or even smash it to pieces. However he controlled his temper and simply wrote back.

<Jeremy: Don't fool around too much or else I won't guarantee anything>

<James: I will give you a precious gift soon enough, just remember our deal from ages ago>

Jeremy looked at his phone for a long minute before he carelessly threw it over the desk. "A precious gift my as*!" he sneered before resting his back to his seat and closing his eyes.

He began to think about that ancient deal he made with James. It looked like ages had passed by and the chance for such a deal never showed up.

"What is he thinking about bringing up such a fantasy tale?" Jeremy squeezed his temple while feeling lost.

However at this moment the door knocked.

"Come in," he casually said before closing the screen of his phone. Without knowing it, an hour passed while resting in his office.

And the one who entered was no one else but Chris, the leader of the intelligence department of the group and pack.

"There is something you need to know," Chris said in a distressed tone and pretty anxious face. Jeremy gave him a look that meant he didn't care about hearing anything at this moment.

However Chris didn't back off. Instead he took out his tablet and switched it on. "This just came on our radar minutes ago," he said while pushing the tablet forcibly in the way of Jeremy's eyes.

And the moment Jeremy spotted the screen, his face changed slightly before asking:

"Where was this taken?" he turned his eyes towards Chris before adding, "why does it look familiar?"

"Because it's in our city," Chris pulled a sear before adding in a whisper tone, "they are the special forces of those vampires. They were spotted heading towards here."

Jeremy's face darkened before his mind started linking all the dots. His face muscles twitched and all he thought about was how daring James was.

"Call James now," Jeremy looked at Chris in the eye while referring to the leader of their enforcers, "make him bring everyone... Now!"

Jeremy looked a bit anxious and he even landed an angry fist over the desk. The surface of the desk dented in return while Chris was jolted on his feet.

After all everyone knew how brutally strong Jeremy was, especially when he was mad!

"W... Where?" Chris asked before swallowing his bitter saliva, "where do you want them to be? Shouldn't we inform the alpha about this?"

Jeremy gave him a silent glance full of warning. "She... Our alpha is now having a rare moment of peace. If we disturbed her... you know her temper, right?" he slowly said in threatening words while Chris didn't know what he should say or do.

Those leaders in the pack were all frighteningly strong. He wasn't strong at all, only his fort lied in his mind.

"Just bring them here," Jeremy said as he felt Chris didn't get what he meant earlier, "this... is the most vital place of our pack. If we got hit here... Damn it! I can't even imagine how other forces will mock us!"

He talked like he was speaking to himself before turning his gaze towards the stupefied Chris. "What are you waiting for?" Jeremy stood on his feet as he slammed the desk with both fists in rage, "go and do what I just told you! We don't have time! We have to mobilize our forces now! Mobilize everything!"

"Right away," Chris couldn't prevent his body from shaking while hurriedly leaving from this dead zone.

As he left, Jeremy returned to his seat. His face took a few minutes before returning to its normal calm, and then he laughed.

"So... That was what you meant after all... Sneaky bastard!" he laughed while holding his phone and rereading the messages between James and him.

This time he didn't think lightly of James' words. Everything started to fall in its place when he put a certain person in the picture; his sister!

"Don't blame me for that," Jeremy laughed again, "I planned to kill you the next full moon. But it seems destiny is more anxious for you to disappear from my sight... my beloved sister."

He laughed while turning on his laptop and accessed the private server of his elite enforcers.

After all he needed to be sure everyone would be pulled to secure the corp base. Or else this unexpected and daring move from James would fail.

"Can you kill her for me then?" Jeremy started to imagine the dead body of his sister in an interesting way, "if so then yeah... our old deal should stand out at last."

He kept his hands over his chin while watching the distress messages sent across the private network.

"But... how did he know she was heading towards that silly place of hers?" Jeremy couldn't help but wonder while recalling the past events after the meeting.

"No... no one ever knew about her intentions at all," he slowly muttered to himself before shaking his head, "why do I care? I'm sure there are many moles in our pack. At least this time the sword is heading towards her heart, not mine."

In his eyes, everything was going smoothly for him to be true. He never doubted James to succeed in his mission.

After all James wasn't someone weak. Even he, Jeremy, would face a hard time dealing with him and his special elite force.

But everyone in this dirty scheme didn't expect Anna to be saved by a normal human!
