After he jumped off the wall, Ji Hoon hurriedly found his way to the nearest building roof. He stood there facing the coldness of the night while the big red moon shone all over the world in an auspicious way.
"W... Why did I do that?"
Ji Hoon couldn't help but ask himself this question a million times. He was supposed to run away using the ventilation window in the ladies restroom. However he deviated and had that strange urge to help that lady escape.
When he thought about it once more, he couldn't help but realize something... she wasn't in any danger at all.
Why would she be? He was the one they were after, not her. Even if they broke into the room, they wouldn't harm her at all.
"Why... would I care about her?"
He couldn't help but ask himself this over and over again. He recalled these minutes in his head.
No matter how he saw it, he had an unexplained feeling of worry over her. Yet that didn't make any sense at all.
"Beep!"
His mobile rang again with a message notification that distracted him from his thoughts. He was standing over the roof of a nearby building, watching over the hotel while many people were running amok everywhere looking for him.
"Tsk, that boss of mine is cruel," he read the hard tone message his agency sent for him. His boss was giving him a cold shower of his lack of cooperation and his following rules.
He should have called to confirm getting the package, yet he didn't. He held his phone and called the only number stored in it.
"You damn brat! Do you want to give me a heart attack or something?"
The moment the call connected, the loud and angry voice of his boss thundered out of his phone. Ji Hoon couldn't help but move the phone away a few inches off his ear until his boss' storm of rage ended.
"I've already sent the package to you," he said, "why act this way? Huh?"
"Impudent kid! Won't you stop acting like a superhero and roam the streets saving nameless people? When are you going to mature? You are thirty for god-sake!"
"Old man, don't think I'm old like you," Ji Hoon turned his tone serious, "I'm only twenty-nine. I won't turn thirty until Summer!"
"You should grow up! Stop playing like a kid in the streets!"
"Go and get yourself a lady for the night," Ji Hoon moved the phone away, "I... grr... ssk... brnrn... The signal... redede... momomo... shshshsh...."
"Don't you dare end the call..."
Ji Hoon didn't wait and instantly ended the call. "Tsk, always noisy and complaining," he put the phone back in his pocket before all his senses got stirred up.
He was covering his face with that screen. It wasn't only for his ID protection, but also it could help him to see during night, zoom in and out, and also record anything if he wanted to.
During his meeting with that lady he was already covering his face with it. And now that lady was moving towards one of the big black fancy cars, surrounded by many men who acted obediently to her.
And she had an old man walking on her side while everyone greeted the two.
"Damn!" Ji Hoon couldn't help but curse when he saw this scene. He even touched the side of the screen to zoom in over her. "She... is related to one of the big names of the underworld... I can't believe it."
He didn't hesitate to take photos of her while she rode the car.
"Why am I following her?" he kept nagging himself about this while driving the car he took from the thugs earlier and rode through the streets of the city.
He was following that lady's car.
It wasn't that hard to follow her. After all, she rode inside a fancy car, secured with three others who looked like they were being ordered from the military and not normal car companies.
"Extremely beautiful... heavily secured... so she is abducted? Or being threatened by that old man? Tsk... I don't like the stench coming from it."
Ji Hoon kept trailing the cars all the way down town. The hour was late and there weren't that many cars in the streets.
Yet he tried to keep his distance, took shortcuts whenever he had a chance. In the end the cars entered a private block residence, lined with tall walls and massive security cameras.
But that didn't stop him.
He stopped the car outside the fortress while recognizing it. It was the famous elite mansion compound that was famous in the city.
He also knew this was the main residence of many big names in the underworld. "Getting inside isn't a problem for me," he grinned with confidence while finding his preferred spot to sneak in.
It wasn't his first time going inside this heavily secured place. The trick here was that security was so heavy around the walls, but once inside it was a piece of cake.
Long time ago he performed a job here. He planted a small and advanced jamming device that he usually used to sneak it.
And tonight he used that device to clear a path for him before he jumped off the wall and started to track the cars.
The line of cars were easily spotted before they all stopped in front of a big mansion. He selected the highest building beside that mansion and went directly to its roof.
He rested over the roof overseeing the wide area of that mansion.
"So this is where you live," he muttered while zooming in and watching the cars stop in front of the main door.
Many servants and maids stood on two lines waiting for the owner of the mansion to come out. And he did. Yet after a few moments Ji Hoon realized that the old man came out alone.
"Wait a minute… where did she go?" Ji Hoon suddenly felt curious and waited. Yet the cars didn't let anyone else out of them and even their drivers closed their doors.
"This is it? It can't be!" he was startled by this. After an hour of standing in his place motionless, watching every single move he could monitor from his position, he became oriented with one thing.
He must have missed her car somewhere in the road.
"Sigh," he returned to his car and drove it back to his home. "How could I make such an amateurish mistake?"
