Jeremy... Scheming For Love

An hour passed after Ji Hoon left, but things didn't cool off despite the cold wind in the night. A meeting was held just close to the spot Ji Hoon was standing at to watch Anna's palace.

The palace where Anna lived as an alpha was located in a special block that was separated from the city with strong walls and a lot of security.

And in one of the fancy mansions there, Jeremy sat on a comfy brown leather seat while arching his back over a grand marble table.

There was only one person standing in respect next to him, it was the butler.

"So it's time, sir?" the butler asked while slowly bowing his head.

"Well, my foolish sister got herself embarrassed like this in front of everyone... tsk, I was planning meticulously all these years and here she did what I desperately wanted."

Jeremy showed a vicious smile before the butler asked again:

"So it's time, sir?"

"No," Jeremy raised his hand and stopped the butler, "we need to make it so perfect so no one would suspect us."

"But... the lady who is supposed to lead us with pride and honor just flinched in front of a human," the butler said before taking out a tablet and playing a short silent video there.

Anna appeared in the video while she was being dragged by a human. The video ended up there as the screen turned blank. "That's all we managed to retrieve."

"She released her power to kill him," Jeremy had a puzzled expression over his face, "then why wasn't there anybody left?"

"We searched but found nothing, not even a drop of blood or a smell of it," the butler said before putting the tablet away.

"This... is quite strange though," Jeremy pointed to the tablet inside the butler pocket, "you need to look for that human all over the city. If he is still alive, then it would be great."

The butler cleared his throat before saying, "but that human covered up his face with some sort of a mask."

"Track his scent then," Jeremy relaxed his arched back on the seat, "send out our best enforcers. They will be able to track his scent from that place to wherever he is."

"Your orders, alpha."

"C'mon, don't say that for now," the words the butler used seemed to make Jeremy amused, "I'm not an alpha yet."

"If we are following the old rules, you are the perfect one to become an alpha from the beginning," the butler said these nice words to Jeremy.

And Jeremy couldn't help but smile in content when he heard this.

"Those damned elders... They lived their entire lives by this sacred rule. However in my time they decided to abandon it. Who gave them the permission to do that?"

Jeremy hit the marble table with his fist. The table wasn't ordinary as it was made by special technique and enforced by many incantations.

Despite all that, it kept trembling under the mighty power of Jeremy.

"It's frustrating, I can relate to that, sir," the butler said in a calm tone while a soft smile appeared on his face.

"Tell me, did she doubt anything?" Jeremy returned to relax again on his seat while putting a leg over another. He held a glass of wine in one hand while playing with its whisky inside like it was a game.

"She took the bait," the butler said while bowing his head, "per your orders, I made myself look like an agent for the elders. She won't trust them from this moment on."

"That's good," Jeremy took a simple sip of his cup while his eyes focused over nothing in particular, "we got rid of that imposter who was enforced upon us to become an alpha. A grand brain with outstanding managing skill my as*. Hahaha, strength is all that matters, nothing else."

"You are absolutely right, sir," the butler bowed once more before adding, "shouldn't we summon... him?"

"Not tonight," Jeremy swallowed the rest of whisky inside the cup before adding, "I will give my little sister a chance to live. If she is as smart as Ju, she would be running as far away from here as possible."

Jeremy was lost in his thoughts, recalling what he prepared for that fake alpha before he suddenly vanished. Ju must have sniffed something and went into hiding without a trace.

"Did you... find any whimp of him?" Jeremy slowly asked while pouring more whisky in his cup from the tear looking fancy glass on the table.

"Not yet, sir," the butler said before Jeremy gave him a threatening gaze that made the butler uneasy. "But... I promise I will find him soon."

"I doubt he has something against me," Jeremy took a sip from his cup before adding while marvelling the good whisky in his hand, "but I can't leave anything for chance. The fact that he escaped just at the moment of executing our perfect plans means he knew about everything."

The butler felt a cold shiver down his spine. He knew how brutal and merciless Jeremy was. Jeremy was a very ambitious werewolf, one who would sacrifice anything and anyone to get his goals.

In the butler's eyes, he totally believed in Jeremy's righteous call for the throne of alpha of the pack. However he was also worried he would get killed one day as a scapegoat.

"Don't worry, sir. I promise I will find him and bring his dead body to yours."

Jeremy took another sip slowly while he gazed up at the butler. "Do it... like your life depends on it," he slowly said and his hidden threat made the doubts and fears of the butler true.

And the butler simply swallowed his dried saliva, feeling more fear from him.

"I will summon Drego to come from the faraway mountains," Jeremy said before adding, "my beloved sis has only till the next full moon before my patience runs thin."

"Calling him this early won't cause any trouble, sir?" the butler said in some fear as if that epsilon named Drego was called here for him and not for Anna.

"Don't worry," Jeremy knew what this butler was fearing. "I won't mistreat my men. Besides, the sudden appearance of a rogue wolf would create more trouble for us. I need him to be active here for the next two weeks before moving against her."

The butler felt more threat and less comfort from his master's words. He feared on his neck to be the price for that showing off. "What about the drugs?" he suddenly asked while bowing deeper to Jeremy, showing his devotion and loyalty.

However the butler knew Jeremy wasn't the type to get fooled by that show.

"Feed her more doses from now on," Jeremy played with the cup in his hand before putting his finger in it and tasted the whisky. "I want her to be in her most vulnerable state. Ah... don't forget to get rid of all these... special drugs before she goes to her doom."

The butler knew perfectly well that these pills given to Anna to control her transformation was nothing but a toxin. If any pill was found and analyzed, things would go south for their plans.

After all, losing one alpha in a mysterious way was already troublesome enough. The elders kept squeezing on the butler and Jeremy to make them look for what happened to Ju.

Losing another alpha in such close time would certainly arouse suspicion. Jeremy knew the sole reason behind the weird elders' decision from before.

"They want to control the pack with an incompatible alpha on the throne," he slowly said while his eyes were lost in thoughts. "We shouldn't let them have it their way, right?" he turned to the butler who deeply bowed in respect.

"I only live to serve the best interest of the pack and you, my alpha," the butler said and what he said made Jeremy evilly gin.

"Go now and make sure to find that Ju before the next full moon night," Jeremy waved with his hand holding the cup while the butler bowed once again and silently left.

"So... it finally came to this, my dear sis..." Jeremy's eyes returned to being lost in thoughts before he suddenly laughed. "I thought I would feel some softness towards you when the time comes. But now I feel nothing but excitement to do it, hahaha."

He kept laughing and enjoying his night while he gave the order to the epsilon he created to come here and cause some trouble.

The two were linked with a mind link since he created him. Jeremy was, after all, a mighty werewolf with extraordinary abilities.

"This time I'll make sure your prey won't run away," he swallowed the rest of whisky in his cup before pouring more to himself. "If she didn't run away tonight, then I can say I didn't give her a merciful chance to live, right?"

As the butler left and he was all alone, Jeremy took out a pocket watch that looked oddly old.

He pressed the small button on top to let its slightly rusty silver cover slide and open. Instead of looking at the time, he gazed up at a small rounded picture held in the back of the cover.

"Rachel... It will soon be time to change everything."

He held the pocket watch tightly before his eyes turned pitch black. Instantly he stored the watch away, fearing he would destroy it amidst his rage.

Then after consecutive breaths to calm himself, he poured another cup of whisky and gulped it in one shot.

"Yeah... It will be soon," he said in a cold voice before pouring another cup.
