5th Wing

Slowly the mint green sphere started to glow brighter and a rush of cold wind filled the room. The familiar view of my room started to fade into a blank white and void before morphing into a blinding light. The once hardwood floor is now replaced with lush green. Rapid tapping of feet penetrated the peaceful garden. I turned to Cassiun and she just assured me to followed the sound.

“I need to see the Lord” a quiet voice spoke to the guard. The silver-haired man looked anxious for some reason.

I stepped forward following the man’s footstep into a room resembling a very mesmerizing mass hall if I had to say. Gold and silver filled the room. Ivory draping decorating the empty spaces and veins of grapes tree wrapped around every gargantuan column. Not a moment too soon realization hits me as memories started to flood in. I used to practice swordplay here with my father and surprisingly Datanian when he was still the ‘friend’.

“Cassiun, this is the garden of Eden right?” She just nodded. I need to confirm it as the place was almost a fragment of my memory.

Why is it such a blur to me, even though I knew this was where I grew up? I looked around and spotted the man from before kneeling. His cream drapes fell elegantly around him.

“My lord, I’m afraid that I have grieved news, it seems like Dagon made a pack with Lucifer himself, and from what the source had informed me, Datanian is in it too.” the man slowly rose.

His head remained lowered but still visible for my stand. That person, my fist clenched and I started moving forward but only to be held back by Cassiun. She shook her head and motion me to keep watching. I tried to pull my hand from her but stopped once again as I saw the desperate pleading look she hold in her eyes. Somehow I felt obligate to follow her wish and remained still beside her.

“Are you sure Orias? Or this is another one of the faux news from the gossip room that you always hang around?” the Lord of Eden stood lazily from his throne, face filled with annoyance and a hint of boredom.

“No my lord this is indeed true.” Orias cowards at the strong presence of heaven’s lord. His petite form shivered and his hand started to fidget.

“Guard search the place for Atos, Lycaon, and their followers.” The lord’s voice boomed throughout the hall. Hoard of footsteps indicating the search had just begun.

Before I could follow the guards, Cassiun tugged me towards the other end of the hall. My body felt as if it was pulled by hundreds of hands and in a blink of an eye, we were transported to another familiar room.

I shifted my gaze around and breathing in the eerily familiar room. It was mostly white but with a hint of cream and pastel peach. At the left corner was a bed with peach silk bedding and to the right was the cream sofa. I felt as if I’ve been here before yet not.

A small squeaking from behind alerting me that someone just joined us. I turned my head to Cassiun only to see tears falling rapidly at the same time smiling at whoever was behind me. A tingling feeling crept along my spine. Why do I have a feeling this particular person would have to do with my past? I turned my body fully facing the same direction as Cassiun was.

My eyes widen and I felt as if the wind was knocked out of me. My heart felt as if someone just drove a sword through it and with that I’m on my knees. My leg no longer had the strength to support me. I looked at her with my hand still clutching my pained chest.

She just smiled, but her eyes hold so much pain. How can someone from a memory interact with us? This is impossible. Who is this woman, why is she smiling? I clutched my chest harder as the pain was getting unbearable.

I studied her again and finally, I noticed she had the same silver hair and a pair of silver eyes. I turned to Cassiun and it hit me, they were sisters, twin to be exact. The rustling of cloth made me looked at the twin as she slowly made her way to my kneeling form. She pulled me into her warm embrace and all the pain subside as if they were never there to begin.

“Who are you?” a low whisper managed to squeeze from my exhausted form.

“Loved just close your eyes and search your heart, I know you still remember it” she whispered back.

I took a deep breath to calm my erratic heartbeat and closed my eyes. A low whisper kept on repeating the same word but I couldn’t catch it. I took another deep breath and focus on the whisper.

“Solas Olean…” it came out in a breathless whisper.

Streams of tears begun to wet my now tear crusted face. This woman somehow felt like she held a key to my life, but what? I searched her eyes for answers as she looked at Cassiun and nodded.

“It’s time,” Cassiun voice out after a long while of her silent state. Cassiun just smiled at me and motion me to sit.

“My dear, I guess you can’t remember who I am apart from my name,” Solas searched my eyes for confirmation but only to be presented with a confused look from me.

I shook my head, still couldn’t find the answer no matter how hard I racked my brain for it.

“Arakiel, what I’m about to tell you is the truth and only truth; but I will only tell my part, the rest will be with Dagon and he is the only one who was destined to tell you when the time comes,” my face scrunched up as my mind got more tangled.

“I see you still have that habit of yours” Solas chuckled as her soft fingers traced the creases on my face.

“Now, Arakiel you were an angel before you were cast out and you grew up here…” she stopped and took a labored breath as if she was reliving the memory again.

“I…” she stopped again. Cassiun hugs her sister and whispered something to her which made her calm once more. Without releasing her twin’s hand Solas continued.

“One-month before the bloody day you just came of age and found your mate,” her eyes bore mind as if she was asking me for strength to continue.

“I was your mate and we came into union three weeks after that,” I froze in my seat.

My mind became hay wired and the image of the smiling woman made my heart skip a beat. I looked at Solas again and it seems to piece together.

“You’re here, that is why I had been seeing you but I couldn’t remember who you are,” she just smiled and nodded as tears streamed down her fair face.

“The event that leads to the war will be shown by Cassiun. My love, my time is up always remember that I’m always by your side, I love you,” her body slowly disintegrated into million fireflies and we were left in the cold empty room again.

“Cassiun please, just take me out of here,” I croaked to her as my throat felt raw from holding myself from crying my heart out.

The familiar pull once again filled me and I knew that we had moved to a new timeline. The scene shifted again to a courtyard. The sky was dark and flashes of lightning with the crashing of thunder accompanied the symphony of battle cry.

Scarlet river painted the greens. Two particular silhouettes captured my visions. It was Dagon and Orias. I moved closer. I remembered this day. There was a lot of blood and screaming. My eyes trail to the two forms on my left.

“Why are you doing this Orias?” their swords clinked.

Evil laughter could be heard as a response.
