EVETTE’S GIRLY FAMILY

Hello, I am Evette, I grew up with five sisters; so we are six in total. My father died while I was still a child. I am the second youngest in my family. With the death of my father, my mother tried everything to get us by. Until a friend of her asked her if she wants to go abroad to work. I know it is hard for her to leave us but when she started working there our life got easier. My sisters and I graduated from grade school and high school; one sister even married and had a child.

Meet my family; my eldest sister named Eula, graduated a business course and after graduation she had her child and then married her boyfriend. My second eldest sister, Evangeline is the prettiest in all of us she is also my father's favourite child that's why she is named after him-Evan. She usually joined pageants and she has tons of suitors. My third eldest sister is Erna; she is into fashion and dreams about being a famous model. She dress all around in in-trend clothes and blinding fashion style. She usually signs up for free-lance modelling. My fourth sister; Ethel, loves skin care so much that she wants to achieve glass skin. She likes pink and pastel colours that are blinding to the eyes. She even likes collecting cute things. Then yours truly, even though I care about my skin I don't usually do things Ethel does. She is like "I had to do my twelve steps skin regime like every morning and night". My favourite colour is also green, I don't like pastel colours and fashion what's-not. I just regularly wear my t-shirts and plain jeans. Next one is my youngest sister; Emma she is the tallest in all of us. She also likes pink things, dolls, fruity and sweet perfumes and short skirts, well they all do except me. Then lastly my mother Ednalyn, upon childhood she likes sweet and cute things that's why our house is filled with it. Even our walls are coloured pink. So growing up you guessed it right, we had to wear pink puffy dresses and sexy girly clothes.

Seeing pink all my life I grew tired just looking at it. So, when I buy things I like green coloured stuffs or even yellow and blue, just not pink. My family where like "what's wrong with you?" I just don't respond to it. They were looking at me like "What the h*ll?"

I know nothing is wrong with me. Upon entering puberty and high school I gained lots of friends. I grew a circle of friends. Guys, girls, lesbians and gays I don't prefer any gender I like to befriend them all. In high school, I learned to drink and smoke. No one influenced me, I just saw my friends and just go with it, and I was also willing to try it. Then, my girl friends started dating guys. Some also courted me but I refused because I am not into relationships yet until I met Marie Fe.

Marie Fe is a new transfer student, she became my classmate. She and I sat next to each other. It's pretty weird at first but as time pass by we got along pretty well. By then cell phones are on trend, everyone just keep on texting and scrolling like crazy. Marie Fe is one of them, by then she met someone over it. She met Ben, he goes to the other school on the other side of the road. Little by little she and Ben fell in love. She gave him everything he asked for. I was confused, how do they manage to give each other everything? Relationship is not a commitment right? I want to experience it to so I gave it a shot. Ben has a twin and his name is Billy. Billy and I were like best friends until he said he liked me…

Evette: What do you mean Billy?

Billy: I like you Evette more than just a friend

Evette: I do like you too

Billy: Do you want us to be together?

Evette: Well I do wanna try

Billy: Do you not love me?

Evette: I do like you Billy, it's just that I don't think I love you just yet.

Billy: Why not try? Right?

Evette: Why not. Love may grow right?

Indeed we gave it a shot. My sisters went on congratulating me and doing like "virginity blessing" on me and they even gave me a stupid ring. Like what am I supposed to do with that? Virginity ring? Pfffft! What is that? We even go shopping for my first official date…

Evangeline: Sis, try this dress. It is floral and in colour peach. It also seems delicate and soft. Just try it.

Eula: No, sis try this long sleeves plain white top and pair it with long pants.

Emma: Are you kidding me Eula? This is a date not a job interview. How about this off shoulder top and pair it with mini skirt and long boots. Men will turn their heads.

Erna: you guys don't even know fashion. Like do you know the quote " Dress to impress" or even "Dress to kill". Now this baby will had his eyes balling out from its socket. Evangeline: Oh my feet are killing me. We walk all over the damn mall and all you pick is a t-shirt and a pair of jeans?!

Erna: Right, at least you could've pick something high-end

Emma: Could you two stop complaining at least its over.

Ethel: Yah, it's over you guys buy a lot of dresses than Evette.

Eula: Are we complaining about your lotions and creams?

Ethel: Well at least it's a must have

Evette: Let's go home you guys mother might be waiting

It was fun shopping with my sisters but I noticed something. All the things they bought were not on my interest list. They even wear long dangling, shining, studded earrings and I do not. They bought smelling perfume and I do not. I sometimes tell myself to love the things my sisters like to do and things they buy but I seem to do not. Am I not fitting right in? Am I the only one not fitting into the society?
