At least, Mrs. Smith, while still low-key in the Thomson family, no longer seems as oppressed as she was in the past. In fact, aside from Avery Clark, the rest of the Thomson family didn't have any objections to her. However, maybe it was the huge gap in their backgrounds, she always felt somewhat inferior.
Emma Smith did warn her that the money belonged to Tommy, and aside from a small portion she could use, the rest would be donated to a foundation for charity. This time, with the capital at hand, she seemed to have much more confidence.
On the other hand, Avery Clark appeared slightly more subdued. But luckily, although Robert Thomson had been disappointed with his mother before, as long as she didn't cause trouble, he wouldn't let it get to his head.
