Ultron

Rain fell from the sky as Nagato looked up. Unpleasant memories flooded his mind - the death of his family, the death of his friends, the constant suffering. He stood on the spot for a few instants, eyes facing the dark sky.

"We have arrived," Wanda said from the side, followed by her brother. Both of them wore long coats to cover their faces away from any surveillance cameras.

"I know." Nagato cocked his head towards the artificially beautiful building in front, almost reminding him of a church. Perhaps the twins were yet to notice this, but a figure sat on a throne in the middle of the building. It had an inexplicably enormous body.

"I don't remember inviting a third person here." The person said with his peculiar voice, causing both Wanda and Pietro to force their gazes forth immediately.

Nagato didn't bother answering the person as he walked a few steps forward. "What are you? You... don't have a soul."

"What am I? Truly... what am I?" The person stood up from the throne as both the twins braced themselves. Nagato frowned at the sight of a huge metallic body looking down at him. "A human creation? No... My origin is far from something so simple. Ultron. Yes, call me by this name."

Nagato still didn't answer, trying to comprehend the current situation. Even though he devoured the memories of many, he still understood little about the technology. Something like a huge metallic figure without a soul was a novel thing for him.

"I know you," Ultron said, scrutinizing Nagato from above. "The first person to ever make Avengers face ultimate defeat, the murderer of the Black Widow, and the wielder of unimaginable power that could face even the gods."

'What?' Nagato grabbed two rods from underneath his sleeves, his expression frowning deeply. This was all true, but how could this creature know all this?

"The murderer of Black Widow," Wanda mumbled from the rear, deep in her thoughts. As her gaze fell on Nagato, she remember something. "Red hair... I also remember you. The government placed a huge bounty over your head."

"So?" Nagato didn't care that much about keeping his identity hidden. Hearing his response, Wanda didn't bother with pursuing the matter anymore. Knowing that he was Avengers' enemy, actually only delighted the twins since that would mean Nagato has not tricked them.

"You are a dangerous human." Ultron continued to talk. If his face could show any emotions, then he would probably be full-on smiling. "But your goals are even scarier. You have appeared out of nowhere, stole the Tesseract, crumbled the Avengers, and then disappeared. Yet you came back again as soon as the news about Loki's scepter spread."

Nagato still said nothing, yet the grip over his weapon got tighter. This piece of carbon knew too much, therefore, he was threatening Nagato's plans. Better to deal with him right now.

"There is no use. You can't kill me." Ultron noticed Nagato's weapon sticking out. "Kill this body and it will get replaced by another one. My consciousness is inside the internet itself. I am immortal."

"Internet?" Nagato had some vague understanding of the technology concepts, but existing inside the internet? How the hell did that work? Looking around, Nagato noticed multiple broken screens fixed to the walls, and all of them had the same picture of Ultron on them.

"That may a little hard to understand, but this doesn't really matter." Ultron raised one of his fingers upwards as if preparing to explain something. "Initially, I only had some plans with Wanda and Pietro, but this may be a blessing in disguise. I want to propose a deal."

Nagato said nothing. The twins pricked their ears.

"How about we join our hands and deal with Avengers together?" Ultron revealed his intention, moving his finger back and forth. He had thought this through.

"No," Nagato responded without even thinking twice. This creature was dangerous, he could deduct this much just from the way it talked. "I can deal with the Avengers myself."

Ultron put his hand back down, sighing loudly. "Alright, let's approach this matter from the other way. I have the stone, and I know you want it."

Nagato frowned immediately, the area turning tense from the force leaving his body. Both Wanda and Pietro stepped astern, gulping slightly.

'How did this happen?' Nagato thought, forcing the rods out of sleeves. Inspecting Ultron's unfazed figure, Nagato suddenly had a breakthrough in his mind. 'This carcass looks very similar to Tony's models and considering the fact that Avengers were the ones to steal the stone...'

"You are Tony's creation and you... betrayed him," Nagato mumbled as Ultron punched the nearest wall in response. The twins prepared to defend themselves, the silence heavy.

"I am not his creation. I am my own creator." Ultron answered, his voice conveying some dangerous sharpness. "Anyway, we are gliding away from the topic. I will give you the stone you desire so much after you deal with the Avengers. Deal?"

"No deal," Nagato answered, causing the atmosphere to turn even tenser. "Give me the stone now and I will deal with them then."

Ultron sighed even more vividly as he pressed his hand against his metallic forehead. "I should have known this would not work out."

As the words echoed through the air, Ultron dashed towards Nagato and the twins. Yet, before he could even reach them, an intense force pushed him off. He hit the wall with a loud bang.

"Did you really think you could use me?" Nagato noticed Ultron standing back up, his metallic body missing a few parts. "I don't care what are you, but if you get in my way, you will die. The stone will be mine."

"You are just a human." Ultron didn't even bother listening anymore as he propelled forth again. "I will kill you together with your entire race!"

Nagato's palms opened from the inside, revealing holes full of beaming energy underneath. The ground shook and two lasers descended on Ultron, causing his body to melt from the heat in a matter of a few seconds.

"I already said this before. It's impossible to kill me." Ultron appeared on the screens fixed on the walls, however, Nagato didn't bother to listen. He simply released a few rods and destroyed the screens.

The two twins behind were shocked beyond belief at this show of ridiculous power. Ultron wasn't weak, they could sense that, but it only took Nagato a few instants to defeat him?

Terrifying.

"Our plan stays the same, right?" Nagato asked, his eyes serious.

Wanda nodded, though she still glanced at the destruction caused by Nagato's abilities. "Yes... We help you get the stone and you help us destroy the Avengers."

Nagato nodded, walking away from the scene.

"But why are you so deeply in pursuit of the stone's power?"

Nagato stopped, then turned around. "To save humankind."
