The Noble Princess

The hero academy, located in the Empire of Eden. The center of the mainland, known as the strongest nation to exist. Ruled by a legendary hero who has now become an old man, but still healthy enough to lead a nation.

The hero academy was located north of Eden. It measures about 1000 acres in length and the same goes for its width. It's pretty large.

Today is the 9th day of the 9th month. People of the age of 15 traveled here so they could enter the academy. The entrance test, besides being a test, still allows people to enter but they will be given the lowest rank, copper, if they fail. So it was more like a test to not get the lowest rank.

People of all races are allowed to come here, so there was no discrimination, unless someone thinks they were tougher and more superior to the others. This is like a high school/college, so there is bullying.

There were seniors standing at the entrance of the academy, handing out papers to the newcomers, these papers either being recruitment papers or some stupid party invitations. Did I say this was like a high school/college kind of school?

Anyway, a white, short, spiky-haired teenager with a slim muscular physique stood at the gate. For some reason, he was slouching in a manner stating that his back was hurting.

When the light radiating from the sun landed on his hair, it sparkled like gold. His left eye was green and his right eye was silver.

His name was Lucian Caelum, 15 years old, and currently having some back pain.

<>

Aww jeez, I was forced to fly here. For 3 days straight! My stamina is near 0 and my back hurts.

I raised my head up and stared at the large gate. If this is only the entrance, I wonder what the courtyard is like because the building is...

Well, it was big. Some buildings were small, and some were big. This whole place is like 20 street blocks. You could even say it's like a city.

I performed a low-class recovery spell, regaining some stamina, and the pain from my back slowly faded away.

If only I can perform a higher healing spell, but I didn't choose the cleric class.

Recovery Magic, 13+

It's a good thing I picked up recovery magic along the way. Now I can walk straight.

"Hey you, give me your money."

"I-I don't have any."

Huh? Do you hear that? That sounds like what a classic bully would say.

I looked around for the voice. His tone was deep, so he's probably some buff kid. Then my eyes landed on this group full of what I thought were grown men but were actually giant dudes. If I guessed, they were probably 200 cm.

I slowly approached them and it looked like they were picking on someone. I crouched and looked between their legs. Well, it wasn't clear what he looked like.

[Level 50 ???]

[Level 44 ???]

Their names were green, so they were really weak, well, they were weak, to begin with. The leader wasn't any different.

[Level 71 ???]

And what level was the kid they were picking on?

[Level 37 ???]

Well, I can see why they picked on him, he's weak.

Then I heard the voice of a woman.

"What are you guys doing?"

I turned my head towards the voice. It was a woman with green hair and yellow eyes, and she was heading towards the group.

She got in front of the boy and shielded him.

"Oh, if it isn't the princess of Hiromi."

Hiromi is a kingdom located in the east and ruled by a kitsune. Yes, a kitsune, those 9 tailed creatures you hear in Japanese legends or culture.

[Level 43 ???]

Hmm, her level is higher than the boy, but it's not enough to deal with those guys.

"It's not ok to harass him, he's a prince."

So that boy is a prince, huh? Interesting.

"Who cares if he's a prince, status doesn't matter in the academy."

"That may be true, but it's still not right to pick on anyone."

Hmm, everyone is looking at them, maybe I should stop them.

"Onee-san, we attracting too much attention."

Did I hear that correctly? Did he just say Onee-san?

"Let them watch. We're not doing anything wrong."

When she said that, the gang began looking around. The leader gritted his teeth.

"What are you guys looking at!"

He yelled at the bystanders who would then ignore them.

"Fine, we'll pick on someone else."

When they turned around, I immediately looked away. I could hear them approaching my direction.

"Hey you!"

Damn it, I knew it.

I turned around and looked at them. I'm not trying to fight before the test, so I'll let him do whatever he wants quickly.

"Yes?"

"You look like you have money. Now give it to us."

Are you joking? Do I look like the guy to have money?

"But I don't have any."

"Haha! You hear that?!"

His goons began laughing. What's wrong with not having money?

Then the leader snatched my collar and looked me straight in the eyes.

"Don't fuck with me, give me your money. If your gonna lie, at least look ugly."

Huh? Did he think I had money because of my appearance? I don't know if I should be offended or not.

"Hey let go of him!"

It was the princess again. What a courageous girl. Unlike that boy.

"Back off, princess."

One of the goons stepped in front of her and pushed her down.

Tear.

There was a slight tearing sound when the princess fell down. A part of her dress had ripped apart, revealing her luscious skin.

"Oho, look at that voluptuous figure. Maybe we should have some fun."

Another followed, and they approached the princess. I looked over at the boy who was visibly shaking.

This kid, he's gutless.

"Give me your money."

The leader continued. He's still going on with the money? This guy just isn't giving up on the stupid money thing.

"Give us your money already!"

Rip!

My upper shirt had given up and ripped. I landed on the ground.

"Tch, just give me your money already."

"Shut up about the money already."

"Huh?! You're not giving me your money, huh?! Then I'll just beat you till you dro-"

Wok!

A noise echoed through the air. The dude fell on his back. His little thugs looked at his direction and ran towards him, worrying about their boss.

I walked towards the princess. She looked up at me. I opened up my spatial storage and pulled out a blanket and handed it to her.

"You have courage, I respect that."

The princess reddened up. I glared at the gang. The boss got up and looked at me.

"Y-you..."

I smiled. He was bleeding from his nose and some of his teeth fell out. It was satisfying to watch an arrogant dude get hurt. And no, I'm not a sadist, it's what these people deserve.

"G-get him!"

The goons left their boss and ran towards me. They all charged at me together.

I ripped apart my already torn shirt, baring the upper half of my body.

"Well, at least you guys aren't running at me one by one."

They jumped up into the air and tried tackling me.

I cringed. What the hell are they doing jumping in the air? They are easily exposed.

I swiped my hands, throwing fire magic at them. Then they were engulfed in flames.

"AHH! IT BURNS!!!"

"P-PUT ME OUT WITH YOUR WATER MAGIC DUDE!"

"HELP ME!!!"

What the hell is wrong with these guys? Are they even a real gang?

Well, probably not since I just assumed they were.

"W-what are you guys doing?! He just used a simple fire spell and you guys are burning like crazy!"

"A simple fire spell? You must be blind."

"Huh?"

"I used a medium-tier fire spell. I didn't know it was going to do this much damage though."

I perform the move flamethrower, a medium tier spell. Despite a classic name, it is actually very useful. The bad thing about it is that it uses 1000 mp. Maybe I should've used a lower-tier fire spell.

"B-but you didn't recite anything, you didn't even say the name of the spell!"

"I don't need to recite it as long as I know how to fully utilize it."

In this word, magic can be performed in different ways. For beginners, they need to cite the chant in order to perform the spell. For amateurs, they can either do that or just say the name. But for me, I already know how the spell works so I can perform the spell without chanting anything, all I need to do is just imagine the kind of spell I want to perform.

"I think that enough of a lesson for you guys."

I snapped my fingers, and water splashed onto the burned up goons. I looked over at the leader and picked him up by the collar.

"Next time I see you picking on someone, I'll count it as the face mashing wasn't enough and I'll break your skull."

The guy slowly backed off while covering his bloody face.

"L-lets go."

He and the thugs ran towards the nearest river.

"Make sure you clean your face. You don't want to take an exam with a bloody face."

And then they were gone. I wiped the sweat off my face. It was still the 9th month of the year, so it was still the summer.

"T-thank you."

I turned around and looked at the princess. She bowed down to me, thanking me, and so did the boy beside her.

"It's nothing, really."

She looked away and blushed, then she handed me the blanket that I gave her.

"Huh? I don't need this, you can keep it."

"R-really?"

I shrugged. I don't really need it right now. Maybe I'll just ask her to give it to me during the winter.

"U-umm..."

"Umm?"

She was looking at my abdomen. I looked down. Oh right, I'm not wearing a shirt. I looked around, and I saw almost everyone looking at me. Maybe I should put a shirt on now.

I opened up my spatial and pulled out a black short-sleeved tunic, which I then put on.

"There we go. Hmm?"

Is it me or did I just see the edge of her lips frown? Hmm, and everyone had taken their eyes off me. Weird.

"Well, guess I should enter now. Watch out for those guys again."

As I began walking, the princess tapped my shoulder.

"Yes?"

"May I ask for your name? My name is Hana Masami."

"Your first name's Hana?"

"Yes."

Ok, so the names are written first name then last name. Good for me. Now, why would she want my name? Well, I might as well give it to her.

"My name is Lucian Caelum."

Then the boy ran up to me.

"That was so cool!"

His eyes were glittering with curiosity.

"What was so cool?"

"The part where you kicked him in the face."

"Hmm... you must have a sharp eye if you were able to see that."

"I did, I was able to see it with my mystic eye."

"Mystic eye?"

Hmm, his eyes were kind of different. Like they were the shape of a crest.

"What's your name?"

"My name is Shin Masami, and I'm her younger brother."
