"Hello, students! I'm Fader, and I'm here to take away everything you have!" A voice chuckled, jumping through a window that had been broken with... A safe? What was going on?
You were just in a boring science lesson, dozing off before Fader had suddenly burst into the classroom. People gathered together, screaming as they attempted to run away. A mountain of bricks suddenly appeared before the doors, blocking all exits. Mylene and Ivan huddled together in the corner as everyone else attempted to throw the bricks away. Fader let out a laugh.
"Aw, are you two a couple~? Well, I feel like the big one will be angrier if I take the smaller one away, so I'll just do that!" He yelled viciously, running toward the two and jumping over tables. Mylene shrunk away, but as soon as she came in contact with Fader's hand, she disappeared.
"NO! MYLENE!!" Ivan roared. Everyone shook in fear. Fader took away a ..?! "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!"
"I took her away from you," Fader smirked, his eyes filled with insanity. He then summoned some glass around Ivan, which trapped him in the corner. Ivan banged on the glass furiously. Fader spun on his heel, then smiled at the rest of the class maliciously.
"You know, I bet there's a lot more couples in this class. Lots of nice friendships too, am I right?" He smiled. No one replied. "Well, I'll just take half of you, and leave the rest to sulk!"
He then zoomed around the room, grabbing random people and making them disappear, laughing while doing so. Marinette had evaded him somehow, sidestepping away. Her reflexes were sharp... Fader's momentum from trying to get Marinette forced him forward, right to you. You grabbed his wrist before he could get closer.
"Y/N..?" He spoke, his eyes slightly widened. Ah; he recognized you... You let out a sigh.
"If you take me, no one will care. I'm not worth it." You mumbled to him so no one else could hear. "Leave. You're making me suspicious..." You spoke, letting go of his wrist. He didn't reply, but instead turned to the rest of the class.
"Hm, that's around half of you gone... I'll go do this to the rest of the classes! Bye!" He smiled, running off. He jumped out the window, then summoned slabs beneath his feet as he ran off, the slabs falling to the ground as shortly after he ran on them.
"Y/N..? What was that? Why did he spare you..?" Marinette asked, a slight hint of fear in her voice. The remainder of the class did the same. You let out a laugh.
"You make it sound like you me to disappear." You sighed, a tired smile on your face. Marinette started to stutter incoherently when you cut her off with another giggle. "I told him that the class had an even number. Surprisingly, it worked..? Honestly, I'm sort of confused myself..." You laughed with uncertainty.
"He said your name, though." Max spoke, his stare slightly sharpened. Ah. They heard that.
"That's why I'm confused..." You spoke with furrowed eyebrows, your worried stare burrowing into the ground. You gulped and silenced, the class doing the same. You tried to put a smile on your face, but your frown only made the smile seem full of hopelessness and worry. "I'm sure... I'm sure he just heard my name somewhere... It's not anything to be about, right..?"
You're such a good actor.
"It's okay, Y/N... Come on, let's get out of here." Marinette smiled. You tried to smile back, but it still was tinged with worry.
Suddenly, the crash of glass sounded. You all turned to the source to see Ivan had toppled one of the glass walls over, making it fracture into pieces as soon as it hit the ground.
"I-Ivan, are you...?" A voice trailed off.
"Get those bricks off the door! I need to go after Mylene!" He yelled, running over to the door, then got on his knees and threw the bricks backward.
"N-No, Ivan, we need to get somewhere safe first! Ladybug and Chat Noir will get Mylene back!" Another voice called.
"But..." Ivan gritted his teeth in annoyance. How could they all abandon Mylene?! You backed off slowly as people continued to console and calm him down. You walked over to the other door and started to move bricks unnoticed. Eventually, you were done. There weren't an absurd amount of bricks on the back door, the majority of them were at the front. You slipped through the door, leaving it ajar so anyone else who wanted to get out could easily notice that the door was open.
You noticed that there was no commotion in any of the other classes. So Fader really had left, he only used the 'going to other classrooms' statement as an excuse. Honestly, he was causing so many problems... Why did he have to recognize you?
