Chapter 9 – Entrance Examination (III)

(Nero POV)

There were 16 robots surrounding me. They were all huge in structure and size, and on the side of their arms was the number 3.

The worst thing is that on each shoulder of these Villain Bots, there was a missile launcher.

And standing in front of me was that same girl with black hair; only now, in her hands, she wore brass knuckles with claws, and a katana sheathed at her back.

Our eyes meet.

From her body language, it was pretty obvious that she wasn't going to back down, and honestly, neither was I.

16 robots with missile launchers on each shoulder, against two teenagers.

Honestly, this is very easy.

I thought with a smile as my eyes looked at all these Villain Bots, and then I looked at the black-haired girl.

In a matter of seconds, a silent agreement was formed between the two of us.

The girl advanced towards the Villain Bot next to her.

She took a step, flexing her foot, and leaped towards the Villain Bot.

The Villain Bot pulled its robotic arm back and threw a powerful punch.

The black-haired girl, upon seeing the punch in front of her, flexed her body in the air, resting her palm on the robotic arm while, with her other free hand, she grabbed the katana that was on her back.

Flexing her hand, she pushes her body upward and spins her body in the air, while unsheathing her katana, and then she plunges the silver blade into the Villain Bot - Venator's head.

The katana pierces the robot's head, piercing it and destroying its circuits, and with the force of the impact, it tilts back and falls to the ground.

She steps on the robot's shoulder and pulls out her katana, as two of the Villain Bot-Venator advance toward her. The black-haired girl turned and looked stoically at the robot, but she could see its feathers flexing.

With a slight smile, I raise my hand, erasing a bit of space between the two robots. The space itself compensated for the emptiness, creating an attractive force.

"[Blue Lapse]."

The two Bot-Venator Villains were violently pulled towards each other, causing them to collide. The sound of metal colliding echoed throughout the city, along with the explosion of the two robots.

20 points!

With the rest of the metal piece falling to the ground, I look to the side and see one of the robots, arming its launchers towards me.

Just as I was about to use [infinity], the black-haired girl spun her body, throwing the katana.

When the missile was fired, the katana hit the tip of the missile, causing it to explode, destroying the Villain Bot-Venator with the explosion.

She really is very good.

I thought, swinging my right arm, tearing up the space in front of the Villain Bot-Venator, who was coming towards me.

"23 points!" I muttered as the robot exploded.

Meanwhile, the black-haired girl engaged in combat with the robot in front of her.

Her punches seem to have about the same force as Roberta's when my maid isn't fighting seriously, but obviously, much of the damage the black-haired girl is causing is because of the claws on the brass knuckles.

I thought, raising my hand and activating [infinity]. Soon after, a metal hand collides against [infinity].

I tilt my head back with a slight smile on my lips.

"Hello," I said, looking at the robot that was trying to force its metallic hand against the invisible barrier.

Realizing that its robotic hand was still in the air, the robot aimed its missiles towards me…

I swung my hand, tearing the space, which generated a point-blank explosion in the robot, destroying it.

Smoke filled the air, and along with the smoke, a volley of missiles was fired at me.

The first missiles hit [infinity] and stopped in the air, until the next missiles hit them, causing a sequence of explosions around me.

That's some pretty raw firepower to use against a mere teenager, but for some reason, between me and the black-haired girl, I'm the only one being shot at by missiles.

These Villain Bots must have very good artificial intelligence.

Thinking of this, the smoke cleared, revealing that nine of the ten Villain Bots were focused on me, while the other was on the black-haired girl.

"So this is the famous gender equality," I said with a slight smile, turning off [infinity].

I have to preserve my stamina, even though I'm not very good at it.

Flexing my feet, I advance toward this pile of scrap.

Without wasting any time, all the Villain Bots fired their missiles at me, and in response, I just used [Mercury] to disappear from where I was.

The missiles explode where I was previously, and, in the next instant, I appear on top of one of the Villain Bots.

"What's up?"

The robot, sensing my presence, violently raises its arms towards me, where I jump back, while its hand collides with its own head.

OK! Maybe the artificial intelligence of these robots is not that good.

With my foot touching the floor, I place my hands parallel to each other.

It's better to get this over with.

I thought, looking at the black-haired girl while signaling her to move away.

She noticed my gaze, so without further restriction, I created a negative space between my hands, which generated a blue sphere, bringing the "negative numbers" and "negative distance" fully into reality.

"Maximum: Blue Lapse." I spun the sphere, launching it as the sphere pulled all matter towards itself.

All the Villain Bots instantly began to be drawn into the sphere thanks to Blue's gigantic attraction field. The metallic bodies were violently pressed against each other.

The 10 Villain Bots - Venator were destroyed by the powerful and destructive attractive force, generating a huge explosion between them. Soon after, the blue disappears, and a rain of the rest of the Villain Bots' metal parts begins to fall to the ground.

"53 points!" I said, letting out a tired sigh.

Apparently, I gained a lot of points; after all, I simply destroyed the vast majority of these robots, while the girl destroyed the rest.

When I thought about the black-haired girl, I realized that she was no longer here.

It seemed like she picked up my signal, but I didn't even notice her when she left.

"She has very light steps."

The moment I said that, a voice echoed across the city.

"5 minutes and 2 seconds left."

Apparently, I can still secure some points.

Flexing my foot, I started running in search of more robots, but the number of villains decreased greatly. Because even after several minutes, I had only found and destroyed three Villain Bot - Victory, three Villain Bot-Imperial, and one Villain Bot - Venator, leaving me with 65 points.

As I ran around looking for more villains, suddenly several candidates ran towards me as if they were running away from something.

Even that black-haired girl was running, right in front of the others.

I looked at all of this in confusion, but my confusion was completely cleared up in the next moment.

Coming out from between the buildings was a large green metallic robot, which was easily larger than the buildings.

Several candidates stumbled in fear and fell in front of this huge robot.

"Yuuei really likes to exaggerate." I said with a dry smile, seeing this "trap" that looked more like a "death trap".

(Gwen Stacy POV)

The web shot out of the web shooter on my wrist, grabbing one of the candidates, who was about to be crushed by a Villain Bot.

Before she was crushed, I pulled her up and shot another web at a building, swinging between them.

I swung my left hand and threw the girl into the trash to break her fall.

"Deliver!!" I shouted in an amused tone as the girl looked at me both grateful and irritated.

"Hahaha! I don't even get a thank you." I said, raising my arm, shooting webs at the buildings, swinging between them.

With this girl, six people have already been rescued. I think it's better to start destroying some villains to get at least some points.

Clash!

An explosion happens just ahead, and a Villain Bot - Victory, chases a candidate at high speed.

Well, I think I can mix rescue with destroying Villain Bots.

I thought, simultaneously throwing webs at two parallel buildings and, at the same time, I pulled my arms tightly, propelling my body forward, which shot like a missile.

In moments, my feet make contact with the robot, piercing it and destroying it.

My body hits the ground, rolling a few inches, as the Villain Bot behind me falls to the ground, completely destroyed.

"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!" I exclaimed, standing up, realizing that this action of mine was not a good idea.

My hand massaged my sore ass as I stood up.

"That was the last time I pierced a robot with my feet." Making this promise, I remove my hand from my ass.

Oh! This would be a good excuse to get a massage from Nero; After all, it's not every day you get to pierce a robot with your own body.

"Ahem!" I coughed, my face red, thinking about Nero giving me a massage.

Almost a year really changes people.

A few months ago, I thought of him as just an interesting boy who made me temporarily forget some of my not-so-good feelings; I now think of him as something much more than a friend.

Honestly, I can't even stop thinking about that boy with the Roman name.

I thought, shooting a web at one of the buildings, and grabbing the web, I pulled my body up, resuming the web swing across the city.

"This is so freeing," I said, somersaulting in the air.

Thank God that the examiners allowed us to bring our equipment.

If it weren't for my web shooters, it would be very difficult for me to rescue these candidates who seem to have soap on their feet, as they are always falling in the face of danger.

Speaking of rescue, this is almost a compulsion of mine.

Maybe because I couldn't save Peter, this became some kind of trauma for me.

I thought sadly as the image of him in that grotesque lizard form flashed through my mind.

But in a matter of seconds, that image was replaced by the image of a boy with black hair and beautiful golden eyes.

When I thought of Nero, a smile naturally appeared on my lips, and instantly the sadness in my mind was pushed away, making room for happiness.

However, this damn school that seems to want to kill its future students ruined this happy moment I had.

"*Clashhhhhhh!"

You ask what Yuuei ruined my mood with?

With something very simple, which is a giant fucking robot.

A few meters away from me, there was a huge metallic giant.

"So this is the "trap"?! How dare they compare Super Mario's adorable Thwomp to this thing?" I exclaimed, seeing a candidate tripping and falling to the ground.

Please! Please! Girl, this is no time to fall for one of the clichés.

I thought, seeing the robot approaching the girl on the ground as debris fell on top of her.

Looks like I'm going to have to rescue one more.

So let's go with the classic, which is running with your tail between your legs.

I thought, throwing a web at the wreckage and tearing it from her body.

And with the other arm, I launch the web at the girl that sticks to her body. I turn my body, pulling the girl, while with my other hand, I start to swing between the buildings away from this thing.

"But a rescue was made by this top-notch delivery girl," I said, turning away from the giant Villain Bot.

Only a crazy person would face this...

The moment I thought of this, the image of Nero immediately came back to my head.

"Hehehe! I think I know someone like that." I said with a smile as the image of Nero became more and more ingrained in my mind.
