[DROPPED] Re:Zero/Mordred Pendragon. King of Lugnica (fanfiction)

Author's Note: If I were to ever continue this, I would re-write it from scratch. The development of this fanfic did not quite work out as I wished to. I'm a bit ashamed of what's published and wish I could delete/hide it for a future re-writing, but I keep it around in this form since it's still decent and some people might want to read it, even if just for having Mordred. Keeping the comments for reference would also be useful to me. As it is, Mordred might seem like an Emilia simp, like some readeers pointed out. I don't thinks it's too bad, but I don't like the way it is also. As I came up with the idea of Mordred and Emilia actually being the pairing here, which wasn't the thing at the start, I thought of Mordred being more violent and rash as Mordred's spirit affects him, whereas both Mordred and Emilia would help each other grow (like when Mordred bursts into the loothouse and threatens everyone on first sight, but Emilia would want to negotiate first, calming him down), and it looked well in my mind at the time. But I removed these flaws from Mordred, making him more reasonable then the Heroic Spirit, so it turned into a pure one-sided help of Mordred to a foolish and useless half-elf, just like in the original. And Mordred choosing Emilia also came out quite suddenly with the current development, even though the reasons were good (her actual freaking OP powers and Mana, her potential and possibility of being related to Satella, even though she's naive and useless now). So, I'm not entirely proud of how the story turned out, but I'm leaving it here. To re-write, I would probably need to catch-up on hundreds of novel chapters of the original, but I don't feel like it right now. Honestly, I don't even like the Re:Zero verse that much. The main reason I chose it for a the background here was because the fantasy world and the magic system in Re Zero was so simple and basic that it made inserting a Fate character like Mordred very easy and fitting, and Mordred's abilities could be easily translated there.

I absolutely love this fic. MC is not dumb and uses the curse in the best possible way. Thank you author-san, for your efforts.

let me tell you what i think. literally a fan fic. an ff that does not excite, has no meaning. because it is trying to literally replace the mc subaru. on top of that for Emilia. Everyone knows that rem is the best, right? - joking aside, it was unreadable to me when mc tried to replace Subaru and didn't care at all about Subaru's death. But I will still follow. i wish mc and subarun had the same return lineup. If both remember the past and one dies earlier than the other, time goes on.

Nice. So far I quite like it, the MC's own personality sometimes resembles Mordred's and despite being a beginner in swordsmanship it seems that he is also developing a berserker style similar to Mordred's but more controlled

There are some positive and negative points in this fic: Positive: there are few good fics and even fewer that are well written, so it's been good to follow along, I'm also enjoying the writing and this mix between two worlds. Negative: Well... the mc of this fic is a subaru 2 slowly becoming Emilia's puppy, making her world revolve around Emilia, the only difference is individual strength, why is that? no creativity? there are many good things that could be the focus of the main plot, but again it all comes down to a naive and incompetent half-elf, because the MC is one of the real candidates I thought there would be a political plot with development of secondary characters, but again... .emilia this emilia that. DISAPPOINTING

I‘m going to be honest this fanfic isn’t really exciting in the slightest bit but can be accounted to the fact that it’s still in its early so here are the it certain aspects of the story is does well in 1 Character Iteraction. The iteractions feel nice and genuine and not weird entirely though there are still awkward parts here and there. Comedy is great whenever Subaru is around so thatts a plus 2 This fic stays true to the original personalities of the cast members 3 Fight scenes described are near perfect though still lacking is to be expected And that’s pretty much where it ends for me now let’s list the negatives imo 1 One point I’ve seen in the reviews that I though was true was the fact that this story lacks meaning due to the fact it feels like it’s trying to replace Subaru with some added parts like Knight addition to the royal selection which I thought was ok but would’ve preferred if it wasn’t added and he just joined another camp though it ties in well wuth Mordreds backstory 2 The random affection Mc seems to just have obtained for Emilia in latest chapter 3 Subaru even being apart of the story like if Satella doesn’t love him whg was he even here. It just feels like a forced way to add him in for future purposes I’m ranting a bunch so I’m just gonna move away from negatives and add something else I wouldve preferred which is Subaru also gaining RbD and having their abibilities synced so they both return at the same time but that’s just me All in all it’s good but a feel things changed would be good

This is peak, i love the story so far, the world building is a bit lacking but nothing too serious.

Probably one of the best among Re:Zero fics. I've enjoyed the journey and I'm looking for more of it. I see that few people are mad about using the curse to going back to the past making the progress useless? you try to stay in the best loop for max benifits that's what re:zero is all about. Thank you for your efforts and awesome work, author-san!
