Read on to find out! ********************************************** Hi everybody! Ash here. I'm a completely new author and this is my very first novel/fanfiction. There's a few things I'd like to get out of the way before you go on to read the novel. This is probably going to be quite similar to other fanfictions you've read considering the Harry Potter fanfiction community is a very large one. I'll do my best to put my own spin on it but do keep in mind that there's only so much I can do that hasn't already been done. Secondly, this is a story that is inspired by FictionOnlyReader's "HP: A Magical Journey" and SnollyGoster609's "HP: I Have Magic." I, for one, would like to express my admiration for these two wonderful humans and the hours of reading time they've provided for me, as well as several other people on this platform and if you haven't read their stories, I'd very much recommend for you to do so. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DISCORD SERVER: https://discord.gg/HT3VeC26fb --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the characters in this story barring my original ones nor do I own the image used on the cover. As a wise man once said, "Harry Potter is J.K Rowling's playground and I am just happy to be playing in it." (Or something along those lines)

Chapter 9— Delving into the Mental Plane

~Fun Fact: Did you know that Dumbledore was the one who set up the Fidelius Charm over Godric's Hollow. Therefore he was well aware of the fact that Sirius wasn't the betrayer yet chose to send him to Azkaban anyways.

**************************************

A week had passed since reading the book on the Mind Arts and I was currently in my room, meditating. Straightening my back, I steadied my breathing and centred myself; focusing on the sensation of air entering through my nose and making sure my exhale was twice as long as my inhale. I repeated this over and over again, making sure to keep my attention on my breathing. Once in a while, my thoughts drifted off of the meditation however I made sure to rectify that. Eventually, I became oblivious to my surroundings as everything faded away into a familiar blankness. However, this time I found myself atop a throne in what seemed to be an Ancient Egyptian palace.

(Aayan/ ??????'s POV:)

"Your Highness!" A messenger cried, running up to my throne and bowing. "The Hittites have infiltrated the Northern borders, taking control of Kadesh!"

"What?!" I roared. "Just who do they think they are? Just because I am young does not mean I am weak!"

"What are we to do, my lord?!" The servant questioned fearfully.

"Gather the men!" I ordered my army's general. "Fetch my battle armour! We move out at dusk!"

Reaching the battlefield in the early morning, it was evident to me that my army was losing, anyone with a pair of eyes could see that. I looked over the battle plans, face to face with our army's devastation. Fear and despair trickled up my very toes and I felt as if there was a pit in my stomach.

I didn't know what to do. Drawing my gaze to the iron dagger impaled into the map, I began to hyperventilate as my mind began to blank.

Suddenly, a messenger barged into my tent, prostrating himself before me.

"My lord, the reinforcements have arrived!" He said joyfully, tears streaming down his face. Those few words were enough to bring music to my ears.

"With this, we can win!" I said with a smile, running out of the war tent. "All who are able to move, with me! The reinforcements have arrived. For those of you who are injured, you have served me well. Rest, and your brothers shall see to it that your enemies shall never step foot within this place again! We will push these barbarians out of our land!"

My men roared, as we marched out of our camp to finish what the enemy had started; a feral grin on my face.

Yan's POV:

'W-What was that?' I thought, bewildered. 'Last I checked, I wasn't Ancient Egyptian Royalty and I would most certainly know it if I was.'

Opening my eyes, I found myself sitting exactly where I was earlier. Calming my erratically beating heart, I exhaled heavily before righting my posture again.

'Alright, one more time.'

Relaxing my shoulders, I breathed in calmly through my nose before exhaling. Repeating this over and over again, I felt my extremities tingle as I reached a state of nothingness— almost as if I was one with a void. My state of Zen, however, was disturbed by the annoyed exclamation of none other than Harry.

"This is so boring!" He exclaimed. "I can't calm down and I don't feel anything."

"That so?" I asked him, smirking. "Alright then, I'll show you how useful what you're doing is. Look at me."

Harry turned his head towards me, his annoyed expression replaced with a curious one as his emerald eyes met my midnight blue orbs. I extended a probe into his mind, meeting no form of resistance.

'You hear this?' I asked him as his eyes widened in reply.

"How are you doing this?!" He exclaimed, his eyebrows shooting upwards.

'You remember those notes I gave you yesterday? This is what it explains. Now go back and meditate until you can blank your mind. Trust me, you'll appreciate it.'

"If you say so…" He huffed. "This is still boring though."

'I didn't say that it wasn't. But you'll learn to appreciate it one day.'

Retracting myself from his mind, I watched Harry cross his legs as a peaceful expression spread across his face.

'There you go.' I thought to myself. 'The Wizarding World won't know what hit them.'

Harry and I meditated for another half an hour before calling it a day. Partly because his focus wouldn't hold anymore, and partly because we had achieved what I had hoped for today. I only needed Harry to step his foot into meditation, not to become enraptured within it. It would also be impossible for me to make him meditate without some kind of incentive since he was a child. I therefore showed him telepathy. Harry seemed to be quite perceptive in noticing the emotions of others— something that I believed would make him quite the frightening Legilimens one day. However, he still needed to familiarise himself with his mind before doing anything else.

'Everything seems to be going according to keik—I mean plan.'
