Miss Natalie was always the sensitive one among the two daughters.
When she hears something, see something that plugs her interest... It distrubing her till she get the answer.
And the bird incident was something that had been distrubing her since that to this moment.
Those three words filled her with doubts that made her thinks of other possibilities.
Messenger birds are trained, and no messenger bird would take initiative to pass a house. Especially when the house is quiet desolated for other houses.
When it does this, it means that means who so ever would receive the message lived in the house.
And the seign on the bird was something Natalie was familiar with.
It was a seign that she had seen in one too many places, a seign that belongs to her father.
But Natalie had not speak to her father for 12 years, and it was for a reason. Natalie lost her mother at a young age.
And the next two days. I saw Papa with another woman and he was holding a child that was age 1less than her.
Natalie was angry and she never spoke to her father, much less took the chances to see him again. But seeing that seign she was curious.
Her step mother wasn't never going to be of any help and her younger sister. Who Natalie surprised end up liking was an hopeless case.
She needed answer and it was only a person could give it to her. And it was that bastard cheating father of her's.
She couldn't get much sleep but Natalie couldn't wait till morning she went out to investigate herself.
It was mid night and the hallway was dark.
It was scary but not as scary as Natalie not able to find sleep one more night.
She walked forward with the small candle light in her hand.
In the huge duplex , her father room was located at the down floor and his study room was located at the end wall of the upper floor.
Natalie went there unsure if her father would been seen there.
Even due Natalie hated her father and didn't want to see him, the house wasn't big enough for her not to see him but it's her father who never showed his face.
After he brought his new wife and child, he shut himself up. Much less giving a proper explanation.
Natalie was still vexed. She knocked softly in the door but it creek opened instead.
" Hello." Natalie peek her head in the dark room but received no response. She was disappointed.
What was she expecting. I opened my father study room and I see him standing while reading a book. He see me and we had a family moment.
Natalie mocked herself and walked into the room closing the door softly behind her.
Through dim light of the candle.
I saw books, lot of books organized in flies and then alot of strange obeject.
That include the skull head on his table and the scroll hang to the wall about human bodies and those freaked Natalie a bit.
The she saw it. A book that caught on her interest.
She touch it and indeed it wasn't from Ais. The texture it was smooth, clean and cold. An attribute that book for Ais wouldn't have.
Where did father get this book from.
She picked the book.
" How to create omega?" The title made her frown, she swap the book in quick light to the one underneath her night gown.
And then begin to read the book.
But a hand was quick to snatch it off. And Natalie despite the dark could sworn she saw blood on that hand.
" Natalie?"
My name was called and I frozen in fear.
" Father."
I turned around but couldn't see my father face due to the dim light. But I knew he wasn't smiling.
" What you doing here?"
I panic but then felt angry for no reason.
" Nothing father, I just wanted to check if you still alive. I guess you fine."
Natalie walked out the room with rage and not even looking back, leaving a middle age man who seem stunned.
He locked the door and didn't even look at the book. The old man slump to a spot.
His glasses gleamed the light of the candle. He seem mysterious and calm but not until he screamed and just kicked things off his part.
And then burt into sobbes. He couldn't hold in anymore.
His hands covered in blood were shaking for long time. The lives he was taking were growing.
After a while, he calmed down, wash his hand and face then clean them. He flip his table causing things to crash to the ground.
I turned the desk surface and it revealed a murder wall. Containing photos of different people from children to adults. And all circles in red marker except one, a teen up to age 15.
My eyes welm up and I begin to cry.
" This would be the last time, I promise you... I promised you." His trembling hands clutch on his locket that had photos of him and his wife and their little girl.
Tear ran pass his cheeks. Natalie wipe her tears off.
What was she really expecting. A father and daughter reunions. What and irony.
Natalie couldn't stop the tears that smeared her face. She seem so deep in her sorrow that she didn't notice the additional shadow that dash pass her. Natalie only felt a bit cold.
So she hurried to her room .
I walked angrily into my room and reach for the book but it was gone.
" That damn old man."
