The man answered but didn't make a sound. Instead, she heard the voice of the system in her head, synchronized with the man's moving lips.

She didn't feel the presence of the system, just heard what the man 'said.'

Paige tried to reach the system, but she could not.

She really was abandoned since the last time. That was good.

The man closed the door in her face, and Paige crawled back to her bed.

On the way back, she already felt the sticky liquid on the floor, so the wound bled again. She tried to climb on the bed but couldn't because she couldn't stand up.

Pulling the blanket down, she slept on the floor, not crying as much anymore now that she knew Lance was safe.

The next time, she woke up because the window blinded her.
