Tension and Disagreements in the Kim Mansion

As they all parted ways, Tae tried to plan the lunch but couldn't be due to some urgent work of the other guys. "Sorry guys, I couldn't arrange it," he texted in their group chat. "Maybe we can plan it for another day."

It had been a month since the Kim and Jung families had found out about Jin and Namjoon's relationship. While there was some tension between the families, everyone had eventually accepted their relationship except for Mrs Kim.

One day, in the Kim mansion, Mr Kim was trying to reason with his wife. "Honey, why are you being so stubborn? Namjoon is a nice boy, intelligent, and he is your brother's son. You shouldn't have any problem with him being our son-in-law," he said.

"I don't have any problem with Namjoon. I love him like my own son. But they are brothers, and how can I let them get married?" Mrs Kim replied.

Jin, who had been listening to the conversation, spoke up. "Mom, but I have never seen Joona as my brother," he said.

Mrs Kim scolded Jin for interrupting them. "This is a discussion between us, and we will figure out something," she said. "But let me make it clear that Jin and Namjoon are not getting married. There is an upcoming collaboration party with Mr Park Do-Yun's company, and I want Jin to meet his daughter Kim Jisoo. If everything is good, then we will get them married."

Jin was angry at his mother's decision. "Mom, you can't do this to me. I am an adult, and I can make decisions for my life," he said.

Jin then left the room in anger.

Mr Kim tried to reason with his wife. "Rhea, why are you doing this? You made him angry. Please honey, give it a thought. You have seen our child struggling so much with his modelling and office where he was not getting any time for himself. At least get him married to the person he loves. He will be happy." Jin loves Namjoon, and he should be allowed to marry whoever he wants to. What if he is not interested in Kim Jisoo or if they don't get along well? You cannot force him to marry someone else," he said.

Mrs Kim remained firm in her decision. "I have made up my mind, and Jin needs to understand that sometimes parents know what is best for their children," she said. "You can do what you want, but my decision is final."

With that, Mrs Kim left the room, leaving Mr Kim and Jin upset with her decision.

Namjoon was talking to Jin on the phone when he saw his parents entering his room. He told Jin that he would call him back later.

"May we come in, Joona?" Mrs. Jung asked.

"Of course, mom and dad. You don't need permission to come into my room," Namjoon said, putting his phone aside.

"Son, are you fine?" Mr. Jung asked, concerned. "I know we all are busy and don't get time to speak with each other, but I know you are worried and tensed."

Namjoon sighed. "No, dad, I am not fine. Aunt Rhea did not accept our relationship. She said she cannot accept it because we are blood-related as I am her brother's son."

Mr. and Mrs. Jung exchanged glances, and Namjoon continued, "I think I should just give up and let Jin marry as per his mom's choice. I just don't want to trouble all of you."

Mrs. Jung tried to console him. "Joona, please stop thinking like this. You are not troubling anyone. Give us a chance to speak with your aunt. We will try to make her understand."

"But Mom, she will not agree," Namjoon replied.

"Just leave that to us. You relax and sleep now. We will speak to her tomorrow," Mr. Jung said.

Namjoon felt a little relieved, but he was still worried. His parents bid him goodnight and left his room. In their own room, they discussed their plan of action to convince Mrs. Kim.

Mrs Jung returned to their room. They both seemed lost in their own thoughts, thinking about what to do regarding Namjoon's situation.

Mrs Jung spoke up first, "Honey, I think we should now reveal the truth about Joonie to everyone including Joonie as well."

Mr Jung nodded in agreement, "Even I think the same. We can't hide this truth anymore. I know we have promised Joona's parents that we will never let him know, but for his happiness, we need to tell the truth to everyone."

Mrs Jung smiled at her husband's words, "I agree. For our Joonie's happiness, I can break any promise. Let's first meet with Mr. and Mrs. Kim tomorrow and then we will tell everyone. Let's sleep now, it's late."

Mr Jung nodded, and the couple got ready for bed. However, neither of them could sleep well that night, as their minds were consumed with thoughts of how to break the news to everyone.
