Chapter 15

Amanda's POV

Things have been looking out for me. When I arrived two weeks ago, I searched for a job in a Café  near the forest and got it. Then I went to the nearest apartment near the Café to avoid suspicions and used my savings as the rental payment. Though I'll have to pay every month. The rental was cheap so I have some money left which I used to buy groceries for myself.

I used the money I got sparingly. Then I looked for another job which I got accepted in a bakery which had a restaurant inside as well, my position was a waiter. I made friends with Eve because we had a lot in common, mainly we both watched anime. She introduced me to Ronald her soon to be fiánce and Jason her best friend, we all became great friends. Adam is a quiet guy and I managed to get him to talk to me so we became kind off like friends although he keeps his distance from everyone which I don't understand why.

I still missed Xander and a part of me is empty no matter how many friends I have. Sometimes I break down at the thought of how Xander must be doing. That he might die because I left him. I made my mind that I won't forget him and that after I find Daniel I'm going to go back for him.

Speaking of Daniel, I asked around and got some information one that involved a wolf to me. The forest was a wolf territory, however, not many things happen and sometimes people go over there for fun. The wolves are harmless but it is forbidden to pass the metal fence. Rumors say, that someone went inside and was never found again. That person was Daniel. She had to go inside.

Enough of the recap, I went inside the deserted Café and placed my bag on top of the counter. ' I swear, sometimes I'm clumsy that I even forgot my house keys inside the staff room while I was changing out of my uniform'

I heard shuffling and whimpering noises, but I took it as a cat, because the Streets filled with them and some even find a way to enter shops. When I went forward I heard louder voices, it sounded like crying and growling.

I became cautious and took a broom that was laying on the side of the staff room door and slowly opened the door and peeked. I gasped. I saw Adam biting Jason. Literally, biting him as if that wasn't enough proof he had Sharp pointy teeth like a vampire and blood on them.

I was so shocked that I fell down with a loud thud that Adam responded with a stop. He let go of Jason who clutched his neck where he had been bitten with a look of pain in his face.

Adam licked the blood on his lips and approached me. I took the broom next to me and back away as Adam came into full view. "Amanda?" He spoke, suprised. "Y-You're a-a-a -" I started, backing away even more. "a vampire, yes" he finished the sentence. My blood had run cold and I got chills on my spine. My hair was standing on edge and my face was pale.

"Don't worry, I won't drink your blood" he said, looking down at me. I slowly stood up, creating a distance from him, afraid I would be attacked if he came closer. "Why should I trust you?" I spoke. "If I wanted to drink your blood, you wouldn't be standing and besides you're my friend and I don't drink blood from people who are close to me"   he said, with a look of genuine trust.

I looked at him, then a groan came. I looked at Jason who almost fell but was caught by Adam's hand on his waist. "What about Jason?" I asked him, suspiciously.

"That.." he looked like he was about to say something then he looked at Jason. "How about we take care of Jason first then I'll explain " he looked at me. I nodded

I gave him a handkerchief that I washed with water from the kitchen tap, Adam took it and wiped Jason's neck where he had bitten him, Jason's head was laying on Adam's shoulder and was unconscious.

Once that was done, Adam started to explain. "My mother was a vampire and my father was a rouge , they met when my mother was at the woods collecting herbs for her ill father , she was attacked because she passed by a wolf's territory without knowing since she wasn't smart when it came to politics.

My father rescued her and they got to know each other, they both fell in love but my mother's father didn't allow, he said it was forbidden because vampires and wolves were natural enemies. My mother ran away with my father. My father settled down here in the human world with my mother and joined a wolf pack in the forest nearby. No one knew about my mother being a vampire over there and once they knew they cast him out. My father was punished for lying by death, my mother was pregnant at that time with me. When I was six was when my father was casted and hung to death. My mother was sad. But she knew she was pregnant with another child. That child was Eve, when she took care of us her motherly side showed us that she cared. When she found out I was a vampire when I was 18 she didn't cast me out instead she accepted. Eve was a wolf like her so we lived happily" he explained

"What about Jason?" I spoke audibly. "When I was working and feeding on someone's blood, Jason found me. He needed a roommate or he'll be forced to live with his abusing family. I agreed on a condition he would not tell anyone and that I would feed only on his blood" Adam looked at Jason then me. "I suggest you Keely this a secret " I nodded"I was planning " he looked at me for a second then asked "Why did you not seem to be suprised when I told you Eve was a wolf?" I looked at him intently and debated whether to tell him.

In the end, I told him everything about myself including about Xander. After that, I collected my keys and went home feeling perplexed about what just happened. Adam carried Jason and took him home. We both went our separate ways. But, after all that I received even more courage to ask help from Adam and Eve to help find Daniel.
