Chapter 17 - Find A Way

"I-I'm sorry.."

"It's too late. You made me believe that you had feelings for me, I guess this was all a waste." It broke my heart knowing that Haruto's been believing that our relationship was more than just a friend. I wasn't really paying much more attention to what he's feeling back then. I thought that it was all because of his problems that's why he's been acting like that around me. I thought that he needed a friend by his side, someone he could lean on... I thought I was that friend, but I guess.. that friend is gone.

I didn't expect all of this, I didn't expect Haruto's feelings.. most of all... I didn't expect falling for Mashiho instead of Haruto...

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐡𝐨'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕

"Haruto? Of course we know him, just by his name though. Junkyu always mentions you and your cousins. Seems like he was happy there, but.. his parents suddenly gave us bad news." Hyunsuk lowered his head "Bad news? Why? What happened?" I got really confused.. something doesn't feel right. "Well.. they said that Junkyu and Haruto got in trouble in Haruto's room. An unknown person got in prison because of it. And... Junkyu.. t-they—"

"They what?!" I cut Jihoon's words off "T-They both died.. t-together.."

Upon hearing his response, I couldn't help but burst into tears. 𝘕𝘰. 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘬𝘺𝘶 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘦! 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵.. 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘬𝘦! 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘬𝘺𝘶'𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦! 𝘏𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥, 𝘯𝘰, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝘐... "Mashi, I'm sorry.." Jihoon tried to comfort me "No. There's nothing to be sorry about Hyung." I smiled, but it faded after I stood up. "W-Where are you going?" Hyunsuk stuttered "I'm not sure.. but I hope it'll give me more evidence.." I said as I walk away to find Jeongwoo and ask for the way out "Evidence for what??" Hyunsuk asked "That this isn't real. Don't worry.. I'll fix this." 𝘐'𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘸.. 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭. I left Hyunsuk and Jihoon frozen while I go.

𝐀𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐲𝐮'𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞

I knocked three times at the door, hoping that Junkyu's parents are home. I expected a few more seconds before the door opens but to my surprise, it was already opened by someone. "Auntie.." I called "Mashi? What are you doing here?" Junkyu's mom asked. I stared at her eyes.. it was obvious that her eyes were swollen from all the crying because of Junkyu's death..

"I.. I just wanted to talk about.. Junkyu.. Is Uncle inside?" I asked, "Ah.. no, he left for his work, I wanted him to stay and rest but he needed to finish something.." she explained, "Ah.. so it's just you here then?" I asked, "No.. Asahi's inside, washing the dishes." I nodded "Mhm.. why don't you come inside." I hesitantly walked inside and saw Asahi finished washing the dishes, he then had eye contact with me and his eyes widen "Mashi? What brings you here?" he asked as I was about to approach him. "Well.. sorry to bother you both.. but, can we have a little talk about something important? I just wanna know more about something.." I said "S-sure.. have a sit." I sat on the couch and so does both of them. "So.. what is it about?" Asahi asked "Well.. It's about Junkyu. Is there someone else involved that Jihoon and Hyunsuk hyung doesn't know about? I really wanna know more.. but if it's still uncomfortable having Junkyu as the topic.. I can come by again when you're ready instead.." I explained "Uh.. for me, it's fine I guess. How 'bout you Auntie?" he asked "I-It's alright.. it's important isn't it?" I nodded "Then um.. I don't really know much about what happened since I wasn't home. You and the others were the only ones in the house. Have you forgotten?" I sighed "Sadly, yes. I have." I replied "Well.. I do have some further information before the incident happened. I didn't wanna report it to the police cause they might think I'm going crazy." Asahi explained.

"What do you mean?" I asked, "Mhm, before all of us except Junkyu and Haruto went outside to buy groceries.. I went back because I left my phone. When I went back, I heard such whispers everywhere. I was about to grab my phone and go back to the car but I got curious.. so I followed it. It kept repeating these lines 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨? 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦, 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦? 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦, 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘦?

I didn't know what to expect.. but soon I heard gunshots coming from upstairs. I rushed to see what happened but just saw someone that's about to jump on the window, but.. I guess You and Yoshi saw it and then called the police." I went speechless after what I just heard. "T-then what happened?" I stuttered "Then.. I heard Junkyu's voice.. about to fade away. He was saying sorry to Ruto, I went closer and saw both of their souls come out of their bodies and then disappeared."

"I— I've seen worse," I replied. Both looked at me in confusion, "You do?" Asahi asked, I nodded, "I have no time to explain, but.. I just wanna let you know, that Junkyu isn't dead yet. I have to figure out something to help him." Asahi widen his eyes as much as before "He's not dead yet? T-then what will you do to help him? Don't you think you also need help to do that..?" Asahi suggested "Well.. I do, but no one knows the whole story yet, and why this happened.. I'm just about to figure it out."

"Then let us help you with it, we can call Yoshi, or maybe Hyunsuk and Jihoon hyung too. You already asked them about it right? They might be able to help too.." I had time to think. In the end, I agreed.. since I can't do this alone.

Now.. all I have to do is to find a way on how to help Junkyu and go back to where we were before. But.. how?
