This is a prime example of why I don’t like system novels. The MC has such an obvious cheat, yet he uses it so terribly. The MC has many chances to use the simulation so far, but he doesn’t and instead simulates at random times where the author will just throw in power ups to scale to the point wherever you are in the story. And I mean cmon…this dude wastes every opportunity to get stronger using the system. Here’s an idea, why doesn’t the MC just use a simulation to go into seclusion until he dies and then inherits the cultivation memory? It doesn’t matter at all because the MC picks the attribute points every time so the simulation doesn’t even matter. At best the simulation can be used to scope out hidden dangers but at some point the MC has the necessary requirements to simulate but he doesn’t use it so I cannot even say it benefits for scoping out hidden dangers anymore. Idk what the author is doing, he’s making the MC look stupid. If you’re going to have an OP system at least make it make sense.
Imma keep it short. My thoughts after reading 330+ chapters is that it is uniquely bland. It is indeed different from other stories in terms of terminology with power levels, realms, and what not. But this is just not a great cultivation story. Plus, the MC name makes me mad. A kindergartner could come up w a better name
It’s not terrible but I find the translation being quite annoying and I’m not a huge fan of system cultivation. The book is very quick paced but somehow still feels slow due to the nature of leveling the system provides. The most annoying part is the story revolves around the simulation too much. It’s like whenever he’s not simulating he’s desperately trying to make money then goes right back into the simulation. It’s like 95% simulation with virtually no character or story progression. It wouldn’t be bad with that much simulation if you are a fan of such uses of a system, however, the MC is so stupid and seems to waste every single simulation he goes through. Do not trust reviews saying he’s a smart MC because he’s not. You will be frustrated with how he approaches each attempt.
Although it’s not great, this cultivation story is more bearable than most. The biggest problem is no character depth and development. The author is also a pro at introducing new elements into the story and then never mentioning them again. Too much time spent on small details and not enough time spent on the big ones. Gets quite frustrating the further along in the series you get.
