It wouldn't make sense since generally the companions are around the same age as the playable character, and since Cassandra was born in 9:04 in cannon so inquisitor should be around the same age though I am assuming a lot with this.

No, In Thedas you are born with Magic and are mostly handed over to the circle to help train you as you grow older. It cannot be acquired....at least as far as I know, (Excluding the abilities of the mark)
