Well Artoria didn't disarm Rimuru, she just moved his sword out of the way and that goes best if you hit the enemy sword at the tip. In this case she just batted the sword away as it wasn't moving. If it were moving she would have redirected the momentum of the sword swing. In both cases it would be best to target as far away from the point were the other one is gripping their sword as possible, because the farther you are away from that point the lesser becomes the control on the sword. For example you grap a shovel at the end of the handle, normaly it is not a problem, but now you put earth on the shovel. The more earth it is, the harder it will be hold the shovel even without grabbing closer to the shovel blade.
