I will check this out once I've actually read Worm. I know the plot of Worm because i've read fanfics that include it, but I've never read the actual story and I think I should at some point.
I guess its a matter of perspective. Why hurt yourself a whole lot when you will eventually achieve godhood without it? The MC is just not a masochist and avoiding harm is a natural human response. MC isn't really in a hurry to become as powerful as possible. If he was he would never go back to the Alliance at all until he evolved out of the first four sanctuaries. And most OP MC's progress too rapidly and create 90% of the issues they encounter just because they are going too fast. When lifespan is not an issue there's reason to get everything as quickly as possible. Eventually he will be subjected to everything that the universe has to throw at him anyway, going out to seek it out ASAP is really pointless when looking on an infinite timescale.
Also getting damaged hurts man. Just because you recover quickly doesn't mean you want to experience lots and lots of pain repeatedly.
Adaptive regeneration is very slow to adapt his body. Every time he takes some form of damage his body will end up being just a little bit better at resisting that form of damage after he has recovered. It will never really reach the point of immunity. His immortality just makes it so that he will survive and live through anything, it doesnt do anything else. So combined they would eventually make him almost impervious to damage but would literally take years to fully adapt to one damage type. And even then, its not superman immunity.
Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but even with the cultivation elements of Super Gene, its pretty much devoid of anything you would consider Demonic Cultivators. There are people who are pieces of shit, but they will be pieces of shit regardless. The Sutra's don't really give them a leg up in that unless they are the only ones with access to them, which they are not. Also with Geno Points and all of that gRape and things of that nature are significantly less likely because of the fact that strength differences between genders are really not much of a thing anymore, plus everyone is trained in combat in basic education. If people knew how to defend themselves in real life, along with strength differences being negligible, humanity would have a much different time of it than what we've got going on right now.
I will take this into consideration.
Its a sutra to practiced in duel cultivation method. I can mention at some point that it has negative effects if the partners are not consenting individuals, but I find it concerning that peoples minds immediately jump to gRape when they read this. Y'all need jesus.
This is going by the philosophy that if everyone is special, no one is. Since the Hyper Geno Arts are freely available, everyone has the same opportunities to grow regardless of wealth and status. Wealthy people already had access to high quality geno arts, Lux just leveled the playing field and took away rich peoples advantage over poor people.
Overall, the filler stuff is kind of important so the character doesn't just exist in a vacuum devoid anything but his own progression. I do realize that the Sanctuary and getting Geno Points is the most important, but again the character doesn't exist in a vacuum, and even if I'm not mentioning it in the chapters, he is practicing Hyper Geno Arts every day, enhancing himself over time alongside getting Geno points.
This is actually the one that I want to make next project. I loved the Legendary Mechanic. But I may make that one a bit different.
