I don't think Ken acts like an edgy teen here, it's more of a coping/defense mechanism that he uses against his guilt and conscience to convince himself that he chose the right path by prioritizing his strength over other people's fates.

I want to say yes, but currently my productivity in writing is an utter disappointment.
